The more effective statement would be if you didn't schedule Appalachian State, this wouldn't be an issue.

Bullshit it wouldn't. If we had a playoff, you would see every Top 25 team's AD scheduling the likes of Western Kentucky & The Citadel. It would be the downfall of college football.
