Va Tech vs Miami

Any fearless predictions out there?
Most of what I have read has Va Tech winning and covering the spread (-6.5)
We have the #1 vs #2 defense (Miami and VT respectively)
Miami has the #62 ranked offense while VT has the #44 ranked O
Will there be any points scored in this game? I don't think MVick will be as big a factor as he has been in previous games, but he will add another dimension. I would like to say it will b interesting to see VT play a competent offense but that is yet to be seen.
Miami also hasn't played as strong a schedule as VT has (84th vs 30th)

I will be at this game and I cannot wait.
I expect Beamer to play it close to the vest offensively. Miami's pass defense may be the best in America and I'm sure the 3-INT Maryland game is still fresh in Beamer's head. More Cedric Humes and Brandon Ore, less Mike Imoh (who is admittedly a hard worker but a pedestrian runner).
I expect Miami to run as well, without much success. Kyle Wright, at Lane, against a jacked-up crowd? Vince Young? Sure. What's-his-name-again? No. And Tyrone Moss isn't carrying the load in this one, not on his own. This isn't Temple or Duke.
I think it's a tight field position game for three quarters with a key turnover or special teams play making VT a 10-17 point winner in a game closer than the score indicates.

Even though Va. Tech is home on a Sat night I still think Miami wins by atleast 4 points. Just not sold on Va. Tech based on thier schedule.
Please don't any one interpet this as me being pro Miami.

I would agree with that. I think it comes down to which D makes the big play.
If Beamer lets MV throw the ball, it might be UM's D with the game changing play. However, it is the VT M.O. to have a big defensive/special teams play. A blocked punt or FG could be all they need for a victory.

I also think Miami's speed and athletisism will go along way to neutralizing M.V.. Also Think Vick will show signs of coming apart when he faces a Miami caliber D.

Most of the defenses he has played seemed incompetent. That was either because he was that good or they were that bad, I don't know.
I don't think he is a good quarterback but we should know after Saturday.
Likewise, in past games it seems like VT's opponents had inept offenses, that was probably due to their proficiency. And it may very well contiue this week.

I can't stand the canes and I'd love to see the BCS look bad again at the end of the year. GO HOKIES. Plus I like the brand of ball VT plays anyway, reminds me of old Nebraska.

I am starting to get very worried about this game. ESPN has been all over the Hokie jock for the past couple days and that is never a good sign.
On offense, Vick needs to continue to play as he has for most of the season (excluding the MD game), meaning high completion %, no TOs, and running when the lanes are there. Pass the ball to your very underrated TE King. Beamer cannot abandon the running game or get too conservative in the playcalling like he has a tendency to do in big games. Use all 3 RBs.
On defense, fucking tackle the dude with the ball. If a score if allowed, make sure if was from a long drive versus a big play. The longer the drive, the better the chance for a TO. Keep the ball in Wright’s hands if possible, Miami will be screwed if he throws another 3 INTs like last week.
Unfortunately, I haven’t seen the Gangstas play except for the FSU game so I have no idea what to expect from them.
My guess is Hokies 24 Thugs 14. I don’t care as long as it is a win.

agree, from your perspective. when the sports "journalism" machine starts cranking out a uniform, conventional opinion....it's almost always better to go the other way.
i'd still take the Hokies at home to win if i had to choose straight W-L (not spread).
who's famous butt is that in danimal's post above?

Never have been all that impressed with Miami this season. Tech should be able to cover...

love how ESPN props the pedophile up on a pedastal
Vick should be playing 1AA or at grambling or Southern U
Shame on Beamer for letting the thug play on the team. SOmewhere, Tom Osbourne is smiling.

Is anyone surprised????
The entire team is a bunch of thugs, but they have gotten this far w/o getting in trouble so why change?
What I would really like is for both teams to lose, can we do that?

Well here we go again, MVick having a "stellar" game. Funny how good he looks against a solid defense.

A pick, two fumbles, 14 yrds passing, 18 yrds running, real big game player.

20-0
that's enough for me
props to the canes. they kicked techs' asses.
i guess you are not ready for the big time marcus. shut your fucking yap for the rest of the season. wonderful playcalling beamer. no need to run the ball. running is overrated.
oh well. it was fun while it lasted. i just hope they don't blow off the rest of the season and play strong for a decent bowl game. i doubt it though. you would have thought they might have shown up for this game.
enjoy yourselves haters.

Hell yeah, all year long we have had to watch VT badass mother f#&kers talking trash and being idiots.
Finally, a real team showed up and shut them down.
No longer do we have to hear about the all mighty great MVick.
