It sure is nice of him to lay down for his son like that. They'll have a nice Turkey Day.

Now if he would only lay down on a railroad track.

I think his post game quote is disturbing........
'I'm not worried about anything. I'm too old to worry,' said Bowden, who turned 76 this week.
Seems pretty okay about a loss. He's been there so long with a lifetime contract that he has no accountability. He can hire a failure of a son and get away with it. He is much too snug. He's got a ton of money. He is just hanging on to make sure Joe Pa doesn't get the record. I don't think that is enough motivation to run a successful program.

Bobby needs to step down after the season. He depends too much on his coaches and when one of them couldnt call a decent Pop Warner game, chances are you are going to get your ass kicked. Bobby doesnt strike the fear in his players eyes and doesnt seem all that concerned w/ losing.

You can get away with being a good ol' boy figurehead if you have the staff, he doesn't anymore. The reality is that even with top10 talent if you have average coaching you will only be top25. Thus FSU will win a fair amount but never be a power again as long as they have this staff.

dan: I just don't think the fire is there anymore. Couple that with the loss of Richt on offense and Amato on defense......you see the results since Richt left.
FSU fans would dog that guy meanwhile UF fan was always like that guy knows what he is doing. He has put UGA back on the map. You can't argue with the job Richt has done. He should have been heir apparent for the job. But I think Bobby was hoping that his son would shine and be his replacement. I honestly think that was the plan the whole time. Boy, has that backfired.

Actually we have a guy now coaching linebakers named kevin Steele who I think is a far better coach than Amato ever was. He should be the next head coach., He is young, energetic, a great recruiter and the kids relate to him and will play for him.
Right now Bobby has us by the balls. He has alife time contract and besides how could you fire B.B. He won't admit that he f---ed up by elevating Jeff to OC. He won't do the right thing and make the nessessary changes and as long as Joe Pa is nipping at his heels he won't retire.
The pain of it all is FSU still is getting Grade A talent but it is so mis managed. With the current FSU O coaching staff it is like having a drunk driver behind the wheel of a porsche.

As a sker-fan I would love to see Steele be the man with FSU but he may be a hard-sell because of his stint with Baylor. Yes considering it is Baylor he didn't get enough time there and many coaches stuck-up for him, but folks will zero in on them losing and him getting canned.
If Bobby is staying in the game to keep the record that is crap. Paterno may be an old troll but dude is still very passionate about coaching. Bobby needs to admit that Jeff is not getting it done and is not the heir to the FSU throne. Maybe he is hoping somebody else will offer Jeff a shot, hell ECU was dumb enough to hire Skip Holtz, then he wouldn't have to demote Jeff.

Danimal, I think the 'get Jeffy a job" card has been played and there was no takers. Rumor was last year that Cinncinati was looking at him but nothing ever came of it. Hell, who would hire him. Dude has to much negative national exposure.
Steele is in here at FSU. Last summer he was "promoted' to administrative assist head coach or some crap like that. It was a meassage sent to him by the powers to be at FSU that if he hung out long enough he got thier endorsement for the next HC job here.
BTW,. what the hell are you doing posting with no pic? don't let that happen again :o

Sorry nolesy, I'm getting lazy in my old age. I hope you are right about Steele. The thing I wonder is, would Bobby step-aside knowing Steele's first act as HC would be to can Jeff?

^^^^^^^^^^^ much better. Thank you. Now your posts have merrit :D
The local talk radio is all a buzz with planning a strategy to remove Jeff or in lieu of that Jeff and Bobby.
I personally would like to see the ole man stay as a "front" man and get quality, hungry x and o guys who know what they are doing in here.
The ole man is fearcely loyal. I personally look for him to go down swinging to protect Jeff.

The next head coach at FSU will be signed when Bobby's health forces him to quit coaching. He has stated many times that he will coach as long as his body stays healthy. I just hope all this mediocrity doesn't start effecting our recruiting...
