Levy to start!

You may want to change your game picks on this one...

Plugged Levy into my computer model: Cal 35/ furds 23

Now that Levy is anointed QB for the BG, I gave my computer some static modeling criteria and asked it to predict the final score of the game. Without going into all the statistics, I’ll just say that I focused on the seasonal averages of both teams, points for and against (PF-PA), while presuming Cal’s team psychology settling down and coming into the game (on both O and D) at a seasonal high in self-confidence due to the QB re-organization.

The spread in this scenario will be 12 pts, with Cal going slightly over its seasonal offensive point production, while Stanfurd will be slightly under its OPP. This scenario assumes no severe imbalance in TO’s, something that could throw off my numbers if either team completely falls apart.

With Levy at the helm controlling Cal’s offensive machine, the game may come down to defense, which would favor Cal, with the Bears giving up an average of 22 pts/game and the furds over 30 pts/game.

So, Go Steve. And GO BEARS! BEAT THE INDIANS!!

dude, no one cares about Stanford-Cal.

if it weren't for that kickoff return in the early 80's that gets replayed 8 zillion times a year people would care even less.....if possible.

the last time this game meant something was when?

You mean the greatest play in Rivalry Week history???

You seem to remember it...

Can you name a bigger play? I didn't think so...

no offense, but there was no such thing as "Rivalry Week(s)" 10-15 years ago.

it's a media/network driven creation.

and there certainly wasn't one when Cal ran back the kick against Stanford.

nice job either being a moron or having your mind colonized by the TV.

Geez Ayoob has been a disappointment, he was a JUCO All American and supposedly the heir-apparent to Rogers. But he had zero consistency in camp and got beat-out by redshirt Frosh Longshore. Longshore breaks his leg and Ayoob gets to start anyway, he proceeds to do little. Now he is benched for the third-stringer. This is definitely been one of the biggest busts of the year.

Ayoob was supposed to lead Cal to national contender status next year, they'll have to hope the still-inexperienced Longshore can heal-up and step-up in 06.

holy christ

how many big games does Cal have a year? it seems everyone one they have had they got their ass handed to them. And now a game against a team that lost to cal-davis is a huge game.

Are they fighting over the Sun Bowl or something just as epic?
