Drew's stats yesterday

Any question that he's in the top 5 QB's? I know some of you have him in a category with the likes of harrington, boller, and warner.

If you haven't wised up about Drew yet, you will someday.

By the way, I don't want to hear that it was just Buffalo. They came in 13th in defense. And yes, Drew has many weapons in his arsensal.

Take away Gates and he's ordinary. Wait for the MRI results.

That the Bills came in 13th on defense only proves two things.

1. Statistics lie

2. You know jack shit about football.

But yea, it was sure amazin how the Bolts moved the ball on Takeo Spikes.

What? The Bills best run stopper wasn't in the game?

Oh well, it was still mazing how the Bolts were able to throw on the Bills' never ending two deep zones and complex zone schemes.

Huh? You say the Bills were stacking the box to prevent the best RB in football from running wild on them?

You can send me the cookies whenever. Just get to baking them.

McCardell 6 rec, 88 yards, 1 TD
Parker 4 rec, 69 yards, 1 TD
Neal 5 rec, 22 yards, 1 TD
Caldwell 3 rec, 40 yards

Turner, LT, 2 TD's

Out of 33 passes, maybe 3 off. Almost perfect.
Ordinary? No.

Next.

Give Brees the Lions, Cards or Ravens offenses to work with and he'd be an utter disaster.

Nice job KYOA before this argument even got started, trev.

Brees and the Bolts had a solid offensive outing against an overmatched defensive unit that sold out to stop LT2. Given the opportunities, he responded ... as did Harrington last week.

He's a good quarterback that deserves to be under center each week, rather than holding a clipboard, and I'll give him props for making the Chargers second-guess that Rivers trade; however, to call him top five is reaching into Paul-level homerism.

He's definitely top-five in the AFC West, though.

How many QB's make it to the pro bowl?

As for the top 5 argument, I'll give in.

But putting him in the bottom 10 category?

Still waiting on that explanation.

By the way, they hardly stopped LT.

Brees had a great game, no doubt, and it wasn't all Gates. It certainly helped that the WRs were catching passes and not fumbling.

Didn't Buffalo come into the game with one of the top pass defenses in the league, at least statistically? Brees has the third highest QB rating in the NFL right now. I'd say that makes him top five by the most legitimate quantitative measure. Why the anti-Drew hate?

The thing that I enjoyed the most watching the Bolts game yesterday, once it was pretty much wrapped up, was seeing Michael Turner get a chance to run the ball for a full drive, and the reaction of his teammates when he got the TD. This is a team that really seems together right now. BTW, Turner outgained the self glossed "best tailback in the league" in about 5 minutes of playing time.

They also let Lorenzo Neal handle the ball a lot more than usual. That was cool.

Brees has gone from no good to "ordinary" and "solid" in here.

Progress!

Yes, Mikey that was a beautiful moment when Turner got his TD.
Did you see him get shoved into the enzone? Sweet. :D

What, exactly, is anti-Drew hate?

As for Buffalo's defense, teams haven't needed to risk putting the ball in the air. No sense when you're running over the Bills on the ground ... even with Spikes.

Assembling a team from scratch, Brees would hover just outside the top-ten fringe.

Hmmmm...
I don't see anybody addressing the QB rating thingy (behind only Palmer and Manning), which Brees has attained while playing one of the most difficult schedules in the league this season.

Sheeeit, you could put half of the current starting QB's in Brees place and they would have better stats with all those weapons.

Brees is deece, but he's not top 5 material. At All.

They let Turner play in a blow-out. How come Rivers didn't play?

Could it be so he wouldn't get hurt, thus hurting his trade value?

And Manning has shit receivers to work with?

Collins has a pretty decent set of receivers. What's his rating?

Who the fuck made any mention of peyton?

Heres an idea: concentrate on the guy you are defending. Tard.

To humor you: Yes, peyton is among those who would have better stats than brees if he QB'd for your team instead of Ryan Lea.....Brees.

Dumbfuck.

The point is, dumbfuck, that no QB is going to have the stats without receivers that can catch the ball.

You say that half the current QB would have better stats with the weapons that Brees has. Prove it asshole. Which ones, exactly? You want to list them? How do you know that it isn't Brees who's making the receivers look good?

I can just as truthfully say that any QB, including Brees, would have Peyton's stats if he was playing for the Colts

Eli
Peyton

Bulger

Thats just the current crop of starters-I could throw in McNabb and Culpepper if I felt the urge. ALL of these guys would put up better numbers in your offense than Brees. Face it, for the insane amount of time his offensive line gives him, and the talent he has to throw to, he is fucking subpar at best

Drew Brees is a fucking joke.

LOL.

At least you gave me a list, even if it shows how fucking stupid your contention is.

That's only 12, BTW. You said half the starting QBs. Last time I checked there were 32 teams and Big Ben isn't starting.

It's kinda like Stan Humphries...if you weren't around to see his arm strength on a regular basis, you probably wouldn't rate him as a "gun"...Trust me on this one, he had a gun!

Brees has become one of the most "accurate" passers in the NFL. His numbers bare that out. How soon you twits forget how you were bagging on the Bolt's WR's. Do I need to go back and pull the threads? didn't think so.
We're talking 47 year old Keenan McCardell, Eric Parker (who I just picked off the waiver wire week 11) Reche Caldwell, L.t. and Gates.

If you saw Brees step up in the pocket and zing that needle threader to McCardell for a TD, that's a whaaad I'm a talking bout.

Raiduhfan...Collins has L.J. Randy freekin Moss, Jerrah Porter, Alvin Witted, and Doug Gabriel. I'll take those receivers over ours any freekin day...

BTW..Rivers did get in yesterday...he took a ka-nee on the final snap...bwa

Brees is easily one of the worst QB's in the league. Joey Harrington would put up numbers twice as good if he ran your offense.

yeah, no other NFL QB could throw that pass...... :meds:

Kelly fucking Holcomb would put up better numbers in that offense-easily.

Brees is nothing more than a serviceable backup for any other NFL team other than one stupid enough to actually let him start and lead them to sitting at home on thier couches come playoff time. Again.

Speaking of over-rated QB's, Lets talk about Dan Fouts.

He has losing record as starter, yet he's in the hall of fame.

Even Brees is better than that sorry-ass.

I guess they had to put one charger in the HOF.

Aaron Brooks is a much better QB that Brees is as well. Plug him into that offense and he'd be a pro bowler. Seriously, you could plug just about anybody in that offense behind that outstanding line, and they'd have more success than Brees.
