Yeah, they really need to switch that. And notice how Pre-season poster child Ginn Jr. isn't on either team. Guess he wasn't the Big 10s answer to Reggie Bush.

Its a travesty that Bobby Carpenter made 2nd Team. That young man is the most underrated LB in the country. He might turn out to be a better pro than Hawk.

Sort of makes sense. Robinson wasn't the greatest QB overall, but he was a great leader. He got the job done - even in the Michigan game, he led a game-winning drive.

That's how I view it too, PSU.

OSUfan,
I'm curious as to your overall thoughts on Ginn. Only received honorable mention, which is probably about right. He was s'posed to be the second coming :?:

How is he viewed by the Buck faithful? Frustration? Don't give a shit? Happy w/him?

Paterno also wasn't a unanimous B10 coach of the year selection by the media. Who else is as deserving as JoePa?

Perhaps Walker for doing what he did at NW this year... but even still.
When you look at it, there's a ton of coaches in the B10 that are prime candidates for bizarro coach of the year... Zookie, Tiller, Carr, Mason, Smith.

I don't get it.

Ken:

prolly a little of both...

my opinion based on watching every minute of every game this season...

Miami of OH - starts off pretty good with over 100 yds receiving and a TD...

Texas - nowhere to be found...played tentative and it seemed to me scared...

SDSU - next...

then during the Big 10 season he seemed to pick up at certain points - IU game, Minnesota, etc. and had some big catches against Michigan on the final drive and led the team in receiving yards...

I think some of the hype got to him early...he shook it off then exploded for some big games...mind you he also had TWO FUCKING TD's called back because of stupidity - Hitting a player 20 yards away from the play at IU and a stupid block in the back by another special teamer in another game (of which the game escapes me at this point)...it seems when he would just BALL if you will he was at his best...he needs to just go north/south and get his seem and go...i mean against IU and Minnesota when he hit the seems on the KR he was gone in an insta second...then I believe the Illinois game he got behind the defense (quickly and was 5 yards ahead and caught a 73 yard TD pass I believe) so he has the god given skills and talent he just needs to get his head in the right place...

i am happy with Ginn, I think he could be primed next year for a big year...I think he did get a lot of hype quickly last year so who knows...all I know is that next year with Smith, Pittman, Gonzo, Ginn, and 3 out of 5 OL back the OSU offense could be better than this years...

Buck in sc..
my thoughts exactly on ginn. the media hype was gambleeque. and while it overtook gamble before making the jump, Ginn still has at least another year to not believe the hype.

Well said. Carp is fucking nails. Had he not played next to AJ, he would've definitely received more recognition. This guy might end up the better NFL player. Amazing that OSU could still hang in there vs. UM after Bobby went down on his first play from scrimmage. He might not be back for the bowl game.

Schlegel seemed to be around the ball just as much as Hawk was in the game...especially in the run game. I didn't think they'd fall off that much. Carpenter is a great player but you still had two great players back there to pick up the slack. With a banged up Michigan line, they weren't going to be denied.

Yes, and freshman #33 James Laurinaitis filled in very well-- son of Road Warrior "Animal" from the old WCW.

Damn straight...you take your boy Posluszny, along with those three cats in Columbus and then Greenway and Hodge in Iowa, I'd put them against the rest of the nation.

Albert Young is the best overall back in the Big-10. He's not on 1st or 2nd team? What a load of fucking horsepuckey! Not only is he the best receiving back in the Big-10, but he ran for 1,300 yards and he was a very good blocker for a RB.

JON, if they had a 3rd team, I'm sure he would have been on it.

L45B, Carp may be there for the bowl game.
Carpenter could be back for bowl, Tressel says
Columbus Disptach, 11/23/05

Linebacker Bobby Carpenter has a chance to play in Ohio State’s bowl game despite suffering a broken right ankle Saturday, coach Jim Tressel said Monday.

Speaking on WBNS-AM, Tressel said Carpenter must wear a protective boot for three weeks, and that the break was in a relatively good spot.

"We’re going to be very conservative," Tressel said. "We’re not going to do anything to jeopardize Bobby or his future."

Carpenter is projected as a high NFL draft pick in April, most likely in the first two rounds. The NFL combine, in which players are timed and tested, starts Feb. 22.

The most likely bowls for the Buckeyes are the Capital One and Fiesta on Jan. 2, or the Orange on Jan. 3.

"I would say we that we won’t know (Carpenter’s availability) until we’re probably out at the bowl site," Tressel said. "The later we play, the better. So I’m hoping we play like around the third, that would give us the best chance."
