Their running game gets moving- but Simon does a good job in the middle and their quick OLBs & corners get to Parker on the outside. Pitts run game does well- but not enough to keep up with Indy's D playing on their fast track turf.

Yeh, Gruden is the ultimate NFL wonder twin.

It's up to Peyton. He has a lot of control over this team and Dungy is the man for giving him that control while running the defense. How else do you take a crappy defense and make them somehow feasible or to get others to believe in the possibilities (Corey Simon). Peyton runs the offensive with suggestions and Dungy runs the defense.

Kinda like Tampa and Gruden walking in with a self trained team.

This just in, the Colts will be benching their starters once they clinch home field. That will likely be in 2-3 weeks. They travel to Seattle to play the Seahawks in what will be a must win for the Seahawks. Look for Shawn Alexander to run wild and the perfect season to go out the window in week 16.

I had thought that since the likes of JIT3, Mr. Showtime, the branman, and indychick fell by the wayside long ago that I was flying solo in here as a Colts fan. Now all of the sudden BBMarley pops up and now Gunslinger. It seems a mini Colts Nation is beginning to form. But I guess that's what 11-0 will do. :D

As for last night's game, that's about what I could have hoped for. Flashing back to week 1, after the Colts had handled the Ravens in Baltimore in the opener, I said at that time "That's great! Now do that against the Patriots and Steelers and I'll be impressed."

I can say that I'm impressed, but not satisfied.

Now that they've done it against New England and Pittsburgh in the regular season, I can say "Now go win the AFC Championship game, get to the Super Bowl and win that. Then I'll be satisfied."

I hear people saying that we, as Colts fans should soak this in. We should appreciate that we are getting to watch Peyton Manning do what he does. Yes, I am. But while I'm soaking it in, I'm not satisfied. Because even though Peyton has knocked out many demons, most recently the "beating New England" and "Belichick has your number" demons, he still has the "can't win the big game" monkey on his back. At this point I think of Miami Dolphins fans. Are those who were born after 1972 happy that the only team that ever gets mentioned as being a great team is the '72 team that's waiting to pop the champaign right now? Or are they glad that they got to "soak it in" when Marino was throwing for insane amounts of yards but NO Super Bowl RINGS for more than a decade? Yes, what Manning is doing is great. But he still has something to prove.


But last night, the Colts D played about as well they're capable of. Just think, if not for Palomalou's INT and run back, the Colts probably shut out the Steelers. So those 7 points can be hung on Peyton for forcing something that wasn't there.

I have to give MAD props to the ABC Monday Night Crew for one thing they did last night.

I respect Bill Cowher. I think he's a great coach and perfect for the Steelers. But last night in the second half, when they showed a super slow mo side shot-close-up of Cowher as he's spraying the field with his saliva, and then immediately cutting to a shot of a Colts Fan who was wearing a custom-built "Bill Cowher Spit Shield" was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

They have looked bad in one road game this year and that was Cincinnati. But it sure seemed as if all of the problems that Rudy Johnson caused there were fixed by last night against Jerome Bettis and Co.

That's why I think their biggest test comes against Seattle. If it's a cold, wet, windy Christmas Eve in Seattle, then it becomes a battle of Alexander vs. James. In Seattle, I give the nod to Alexander. However, if it's 50 degrees and weather's no problem, then I don't see the Seahawks outscoring the Colts. The one team left that can do that is San Diego, but they'd have to do it in Indy.

Bite me Rush :D I've been a Colts fan longer than this (just ask Jiminphilly). I was remarking to my wife the other night the amount of brand new Colts merchandise I'm seeing people wear. It bothers me a little- but it makes it easier for me to get it. Years ago- I had to order my Harbaugh & Faulk jerseys from a TSA in Indy because no one around would get them.

Yes, I remember. And in fact, when that went down back in '97 the Colts were 0-10 at the time. But that particular game continued a streak in which the Colts were beating defending Super Bowl Champions in the regular season. I believe it went three straight with wins against Dallas the year before and San Fransisco the year before that.

I too, have noticed the "bandwagoners" coming out of the woodwork. At my store, the customer base has really started pulling the gear out of the closet. We even sell the little "Colts" window flags, (the ones that have the little pole), and they didn't sell worth shit in August & September, but they're really moving now....

Actually, Aaron Bailey #80 (IU Grad) let that ball slip through his hands and off his lap and it bounced off the turf before he jumped up and acted like he caught it. Ususally when I talk to Colts fans who cried about that game they talk about Cordell Stewart stepping out of bounds in the back of the end zone before catching a touchdown pass that wasn't tipped. You've got to be one of very few who still believes Bailey caught that ball.

I've been a Colts fan for years, but on this board I pretty much just post angry evil shit to certain posters. I'll be good when posting in the NFL forum. Dr. D is gone after 6 years, so I got bored and came in here.

What I hate about being a Colts fan for all these years was getting up on a Sunday morning with your girlfriend and watching the game. Inevitably she would state: "It's the colts, they will never win." and going off and doing dishes or some other shit.

We've had to deal with that type of attitude for years now. "They should go back to Baltimore!" "Send a Mayflower truck to the stadium" OH! HARDEE HAR HAR, creative dipshit!

It's the same with the Pacers. Since this town has never had a championship, dumbass non sport fans likes to show you their knowledge of Indiana sports by telling you Razor Shines kicked ass and the Indians have won several championships.
