It is by far the best Dan Brown book. I like it better than Divinci Code. It was the first book to introduce Robert Langdon. Great story telling and very vivid descriptions. It is probably my all-time favorite book. I have been to Rome and the Vatican and he is dead on with his accounts.

I rate it like this for Dan Brown:

1. Angels and Demons
2. Divinci Code
3. Digital Fortress
4. Deception Point

All are really good. Read the last 2 after your fiiish Angels and Demons.

Put me down for digging Angels & Demons more than Da Vinci Code, too. And I read Angels & Demons first, which added to the letdown I felt when I read Da Vinci Code.

I don't get all the hooplah about his stuff, having read "Angels and Demons" and "DaVinci Code."

He's an entertaining enough writer, but his book are filled with stuff that has either been already gone into by Robert Anton Wilson's "Illuminatus" trilogy, or "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" (which came out in the freaking 80's, didn't it?), Elaine Pagel's (sp?), or any other of a dozen or so conspiracy freaks. And he also plays fast and loose with historical accuracy, as an increasing number of websites and books are pointing out.

I'm not saying that the guy's a hack - just that I don't understand all the fuss in the media.
