The Al Franken Show.

After a month or so of tuning into Franken's show, I can honestly say, radio is a worse place
with this fucking shitbag on the air.
Dropping references to his possible senate run?
Milking applause from his retarded audience to stroke his ego?
"Bush lied us into war, but we have to stay and get the job done."
"Republicans (all Republicans) bad...Democrats (any Democrat) good."
"Oy! I'm such a Jewy, Jewy, Jew-Jew. Did I mention I'm Jewish?"
If this is the best that liberal (sorry, I refuse to use the term "left" for anything American, except for my secret Maoist brothers in hiding) radio has to offer, you are truly in a sad fucking condition.
So go ahead, Al. Go and try to be even more jingoistic than the sociopathic Republicans
while you're busy giving Joe "Two-Passports" Lieberman a hand job.
I'll be busy listening to Limbaugh in Bushice's rental car.

Radio political hack talk shows are THE worst no matter what side of the aisle they claim to represent.

No kidding.
George Soros should ask for a refund.

Al Franken was awful as a comedian and is more awful (sorry bout the grammer, maybe it's awfuller :)) as a political hack. He's is almost as awful as Limbaugh, who...similar to Jim Rome in the sports field...has made a living doing the same show day after day for many, many years.
There are a few good people on talk radio. Glenn Beck is very humorous and has some political leanings, and if you don't mind a true conservative Laura Ingraham has some great interviews and good music along with fun talk about issues, along with a few guests with opposing opinions that are actually treated with respect.

Whoah...whoah...whoah...
Al Franken may be a sleazy partisan huckster, but Laura Ingraham is a bonafide lunatic.
She makes Limbaugh look like Thomas Aquinas, for fuck's sake.

Of course you were listening to Limbaugh. He's the liberal talk show host in Oaklahoma. They like to be fair and balanced and all that.

Which cable provider in Oklahoma offers Al Jazeera?
Is it one of those crappy deals, where they bundle it with ESPN 2 ?

I think I'll just go ahead & predict a sunrise in the west tomorrow being as that's the only more certain sign of the End of the World than me agreeing with Marty Red.
I've tried many times to listen to Al Franken and his show is just SO awful that the commercial breaks are blessed relief.
You want to start an epidemic of teenage suicides? You don't have to let them play Doom or listen to heavy metal music played backwards- have them listen to Al Franken's show and they'll be dropping like flies. They'll be offing themselves in self defense.

The Al Franken Show
....or....
3 A.M. phone call (collect) from R_T_S
Close call, but either way, you'll be begging for the sweet, merciful relief of a slug to the dome.

If he wins the senate race in Minnesota, I will no longer be a Vikings fan!

Al Franken definitely reads better than he talks.

I'd think the opposite, he's good with clever jokes and one liners - but the substance is entirely self serving and hypocritical.

You know who was good with jokes?
Daniel Ortega.
That guy knew jokes.

I listen to NPR during the day. And Amy Goodman when I can, on the Link TV network. Jim Lehrer News Hour on PBS is also a good source for refined, intelligent discussion. Franken's just enjoying himself. I enjoy his guests more than I do him. They book some pretty informed people.

Believe it or not, we have NPR here in Oklahoma also. I listen to some of the news shows on the way to work and back, but usually just tune in for "wait, wait don't tell me" on Saturdays and the car talk guys...also on Saturdays. I work during the week too much to really keep up with the NPR schedule other than what happens from here to there in my car. Same with all the other radio shows, it's just what I catch in the car.
And when flipping the channels, I still think Laura Ingraham is the best for the minutes. Call her a looney if you must (and I agree that she is way conservative), but she's the only talk show host I have heard that has actually clerked in the Supreme Court and has a sense of humor and can throw out music links like she does. Her show rocks.
