skins vs dallas

ok, dallas fan. here is your shot at redemption.

a couple of months ago, the skins finally did the boys in in a way they have been burned by the boys so often in recent years. the boys blew a nearly insurmountable lead- especially considering how poorly the skins O was playing- with less than 4 minutes to play. it was potentially more devastating considering both teams current playoff hopes.

as a skins fan, i loved hearing the crying over at cowboyszone over how lucky the skins were, how the boys outplayed the skins, how sad skins fans were to be celebrating....

ironic, i think, considering the rivalrys recent history. how did it taste?

i heard the skins are an early 2.5 point favorite. not sure if i fully agree, but i can understand why...

skins are playing at home.
skins won game 1.
maybe the cold weather favors them and their superior running game?

reasons the skins should lose-
-redemption.
-dallas' O is better (passing anyhow- the skins pass O has been pretty dismal for weeks, although the rushing O has been more consistent).
-most importantly, the skins could be without their top 2 CB's- springs and rogers. given that bledsoe has been throwing the ball decently and dallas hasnt run it well- this could be very bad, especially considering the pass rush for the skins has been inconsistent.

losing to the bucs then to the raiders and chargers at home- all winnable games in which the skins saw a late lead evaporate- was devastating to the skins. the D embarrasingly couldnt stop anyone vs the bucs. then the very next week, the skins O scored all of 6 points against a D that just gave up 26 to the jets- the skins ran the ball all of 8 times the second half- with a lead. WTF? then, both sides caved late against the chargers the next week.

defensively----getting griffin back on the D line recently has helped the skins D tremendously- they are resembling last years/early this years D. they can handle a team that hasnt run the ball effectively, but can pass if they need to (arizona last week is a good example). the bad news is the possible injuries to the CB's- 1st round pick rogers has played like a stud since he has started the past few weeks. springs has been a rock who seemingly never gets beat, unlike the guy he replaced.

offensively-- brunell has not looked very good since the tampa game. he resembles last years performance more so than the guy who ran around making clutch throws and runs early on. i wish i knew what gives with this guy. the skins lost david patten weeks ago, but he did literally nothing except draw a couple of pass INT calls in the 6 weeks or whatever he played. jacobs- all world in practice so they say- has done nothing but drop a few balls. thrash-say what you want about him, but him being hurt has not helped. he is an outstanding ST player and was making alot of key third down catches. it seems the number 2 and 3 WR's are getting open at times, but brunell doesnt see them. not good.

at least portis has picked up his game. he's not what i would like him to be, but he's getting better.

the key to this game seems obvious to me- if springs and rogers cant go, it will be on the O's shoulders to score points and that is bad news for the skins.

still- calling my shot-
skins 20
boys 17

Nice breakdown of your team.

Av/Sigs anyone?

I really like Dallas chance in this game. I wouldn't say Dallas' running game has struggled. It hasn't been all world, by any stretch, but to me that's a good thing. It's made Parcells take the training wheels off and throw the damn ball down field. I thought his play calling this year has been way too conservative considering the talent they have on offense. I really like what Marion Barber has been showing lately, and Julius Jones shows sparks of being a franchise back. Just not sure he's durable for a long career.

Last week was an emotional win for the Boys and I think they'll keep that momentum going. Their backs are to the wall. Win out and they likely take the NFC East.

No way either team takes this game lightly. It's the Freaking Skins/Cowboys. Best rivalry in Sports, IMHO.

Hard fought game. Playoff intensity, and the Boys reclaim their bitches!

Thanks brother, and you too. I am finishing up a couple things here at work and then at 11am I get my million dollar mansion. HAPPY FUCKING BIRTHDAY TO ME. Sorry guys, but I am a first time home owner in this ridiculously priced state of California, and I am a little pumped up.

Hope your day goes well HH, and maybe, just maybe, we'll get a belated birthday present in the form of a Foreskin ass plungering.

"HERE EYEYAM!"

Look, there is no way the Skins even have a chance at this. If you had to be your mortgage on this, you'd have to take the Cowboys to dominate. Dallas is pumped up right now and looking for redemption. Barber will cut through that Defense like a hot Ginsu slicing a warm stick of butter. Gus Frerotte is getting old ....err i men Mark Brunell and he will get bitch slapped for the fluke he is.

That said

Skins to win by 3 in ot :P

Can't seem to work the curse anymore. :x

Don't know what to say other than the Cowboys ran into a buzzsaw today. Nice win by the skins, props.

Props to grego & bd for calling their shot before the game.

RACK the 'Skins!
Whether or not they make the playoffs, a win over Dallas is sweeter than any other win. 8)

There's nothing to say other than that was a solid ass-kicking in every aspect. The Cowboys got man handled on both sides of the ball. They lost every battle in the trenches, Played like shit, and couldn't keep the yellow hankies off of the field.

Pa-the-tic!

Props to the Skins for actually fielding an NFL team yesterday.

My thoughts exactly, huge racks to that!

Now............WHERE'S MY BITCHES :?:

Well, I don't want to rub salt in the wounds.......err ya I do, but Parcells if a fucking loser. I have just lost all respect for that dickhead. Just because your team just got it's ass handed to them doesn't mean you run off after time expires and don't even acknowledge gibbs for a great job. That's pussyass crap. I can think of a million reasons why I'd be pissed too but that is poor sportsmanship. "It's what i call Jap plays,.. no disrespect to asians."

What a pussy.

from what i understand, BD, parcells tracked down gibbs and shook his hand. i think the handshake in last years game was a little ridiculous and an attempt to put a chink in joe gibbs armor, since there is nothing else to rant about as far as gibbs is concerned.

oh, and...no direspect to asians.

Need to win out (Carolina, St. Looey) and get Skins to lose to NYG and Philly. Could happen. And I could be back in my house on the Coast by New Years..

Too bad cant play KC again to get well....
