We've done this for a few years now and it has worked out pretty well.

Read this next sentence before you go any further:

This game is $10 buy in

If your still reading, and didn't understand, it means by signing up and submitting a roster you commit to throw $10 in for this winner take all game

After the game is over and a winner declared, it is the winner's responsability to collect payment from all participants. This means you drop them a PM with an addy to send the money to and if anyone stiffs you, post them up for crucifiction. An FYI: In 3 years of doing this, we've never had a welch (War that streak)

So here's the game:

Pick 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 K & 1 Def from the pool of playoff teams.
You can only pick 1 position per team.

A Sample roster may look like this:

QB Plummer
RB Bettis
RB Edge James
WR Chad Johnson
WR Joey Galloway
WR Darrell Jackson
TE Ben Watson
Def Bears

Notice how every position is from a different team?

OK, now hears the Scoring:

QB, RB, WR & TE Scoring:
1 pt per 25 yds Passing
1 pt. per 10 yds. rushing or receiving
4 Pt. per Passing TD
6 Pt. per rushing or receiving TD
2 Pt. per 2 pt. Pass, receive or rushing conversion

Examples:

Plummer throws for 280 yds & 1 TD pass, rushes for 52 with 1 TD on a QB sneak, his total score for that game is 26

Bettis rushes for 44 yds, receives for 23 , throws a 31 yd TD on a HB pass, has 2 rushing TDs and a 2 pt. rushing conversion his score is 25

XP 1 Pt.

Def
Sack - 1 pt.
Int or Fumble recovery - 2 pts.
Def or special team TD - 6 pts.
Hold opposition to 10 Pts or less - 5 pts.

Obviously the strategy is to pick players from teams you think will go deeply into the playoffs (ie; the more games your player plays, the more points he'll score)

If your in, sign up submit a roster either on the thread or to me via PM (if your the paranoid of jiminphilly type :D).

After the playoff participants are decided and we'll keep weekly running score.

Depending on how many people are playing- that is not even remotely feasible.

I've done these with guys at work for the past 5 years- no one ever has a complete dup team. But I do guess anything is possible

we've done this 3 or 4 years now and never had a duplicate roster, but if we did it would be first posted gets it.

Coupla' few suggestions here:

1. Every participant pm their roster to Q by a set deadline. Say Friday 12.00 EST. That way, none worries about somebody else shadowing their selections or whatever. Q needs to earn his keep anyways, and I'll owe him another sammitch.

2. Regardless of the amount of participants, 'bode is bode, and cash is cash. No minimum amount of players are required. I'll gladly accept your $10 Scotty.

3. If you don't plan on participating in this contest, shut your fucking piehole and find another thread to loiter in.

Just to clarify and make sure all are on the same page:

Scotty, you don't have TE in the roster requirements, and then don't a K in your sample roster.

I'm going to assume this is incorrect and that a complete roster comprises 9 players.
