screw this..it's almost 3pm , almost over my hangover...and no college football.

There have never been sunday January 1st Bowl Games. Thankfully it is a rare occurance.

FYI -

The Tournament of Roses decided back in the 1800's that they did not want to have the parade on Sundays due to alarming the horses that were parked in front of the churches in Pasadena.

They continued with this custom due to the benevolent weather history, and attributing some of it to God repaying them for honoring Sunday....

Ironic that the ass-kicking storm that is due for SoCal arrives tonight and will continue through Monday....

Rose Bowl on Weds is obviously scheduled for ratings and drama.....

And dozens of minutes of pre-game bullshit, no doubt. I know the game is scheduled for "7 p.m." CT, but does anybody know when the actual kickoff is? I figure it will be at least 15 minutes of crap before the game actually starts.

Hopefully they waste as much time as possible, I can't get home from work til after 8:30. Hopefully, unlike last year, this one won't be over by halftime.

Based on the amount of meaningless feature stories, various "expert analysis" for the portion of the audience who doesn't know a touchback from a touchdown, and "Rose Bowl history, let's give you a recap, year-by-year" segments, and a plethora of TV timeouts, I'd say you won't miss much more than the 1st quarter.

I think it is less often than that. 364 divides evenly from 7 but you have to take into consideration that leap year is once every 4 years. I think January 1st falls on a Sunday only once every 11 years or something like that.

Comes out to 4 times in a 28-year period, although those occurrences are not spaced out evenly due to Leap Year.

Last time it happened was 1995. Next time it happens is in 2012, then 2017, then 2023, then not again until 2034.
