Poor Matt Leinart to the Saints

Terrible situation to end up in. I think he goes to a team that has some talent. McAllister, Horn and Stallworth are nice players to have as a rookie. I can't say that he's going to like being in N.O. since the city has about 1/3 of its population, the place is fucked up, home field questions and an owner that would like nothing more than to move out of town.

I guess we'll really see what kind QB he is.

I think Leinart is going to be a helluva NFL QB. He'll take his lumps like any rookie on a cruddy team but he can't do any worse than Aaron Brooks. Brooks is simply one of the dumbest QB's that I have ever seen.

McNair is dead set on coming back. The Titans are going to have to pay him a sick amount of cash though. Volek has a lot of game as the backup. Where would Leinart fit in?

The Saints have zilch at the QB position. I think that SF ended up with the third pick. I could see them making a play for Leinart. They had him slotted for that #1 pick last year and got "stuck" with Alex Smith. Far too soon to pass judgment on Smith but he didn't look good at all this year.

Draft Order (1-5):

1. Houston
2. New Orleans
3. Tennessee
4. New York Jets
5. Green Bay

I thought that I saw SF with the third pick too. This order was in the paper this morning.

I personally think they should adopt a draft lottery like the NBA and NHL have for non-playoff teams.

From http://football.about.com

1. Houston
2. New Orleans
3. Tennessee
4. N.Y. Jets
5. Green Bay
*6. San Francisco
*6. Oakland
8. Buffalo
9. Detroit
10. Arizona
11. St. Louis
12. Cleveland
13. Baltimore
14. Philadelphia
15. Atlanta
16. Miami
17. Minnesota
18. Dallas
19. San Diego
20. Kansas City
21. New England**
22. Denver** (from Washington)
23T. Tampa Bay**
23T. Carolina**
25. Chicago**
26. Cincinnati**
27T. Pittsburgh**
27T. N.Y. Giants**
29. Jacksonville**
30. Seattle**
31. Denver**
32. Indianapolis**

*To be decided by coin flip
**Subject to playoff results
Determining Order of Selection
• The team with the lowest winning percentage at the end of the previous season drafts first in the NFL Draft.

• The rest of the teams are placed in order from lowest winning percentage to the highest.

• The Super Bowl winner drafts last, even if they do not have the highest winning percentage.

• The Super Bowl loser drafts next to last.

• Strength of schedule for the previous season is the first tie-breaker for teams with the same winning percentage.

• Divisional and conference records are the next step in the tie-breaking procedure.

• As a last resort, a coin toss is used to determine the order of selection for teams with the same winning percentage.

• If a playoff and non-playoff team end the season with the same winning percentage, the non-playoff team selects before the playoff team regardless of strength of schedule.

Leinart presumably to go to the Saints is easy to guess.
The next question is, will he have a coach other than Haslett?
I haven't heard anything other than speculation at this point.
Guess Nawlins management isn't eager to get in on the competition for headline space! :P
