Paterno’s tired act was in direct contrast to his friend, Bobby Bowden. The 76-year-old Florida State coach was typically gracious and respectful to everyone during the week, media included. Asked if he had similar complaints regarding the week’s bowl schedule, Bowden said: “We’re just happy to be here.”

Unfortunately, that kind of thing is more the rule than the exception for Paterno. It's tough to take the Brooklyn street kid out of the guy, even 70 years later.

Frisco and I were talking about that last night, when he was telling the camera to getoutahere!!! getoutahere!!! right before the game started.

Funny to see the old man act like that.

He yells and Bobby says just random dumb ass shit that makes no sense, so the way I see it...they're both alright.

That is a perfect explanation, just perfect.

And really, if that is the worst you have on Paterno, I would feel pretty good as a PSU fan.

there's a bit of a difference between the geriatric who still coaches and teh geriatric who puts on a headset so he can find out the score of a game he's standing on the sideline for.

The funnier thing was that during the plethora of missed FG's you could see both asking their asst coaches what happened.
