Don't know if anybody caught the bit about Jack Del Rio complaining about the malfunctioning coach to QB radio. But it got me to wondering just how easy it might be for a fan with some high powered radio equipment to listen into or perhaps even jam/disrupt a team's coach/QB radio communications.

So I've got to think somewhere along the line an obsessed fan with a big ass radio transmitter has gotten busy with a team's headsets?

I think the wristband is the best way to go w/ plays. Have all the plays scripted on the band and then just signal in numbers. Stadiums are too loud, plus hard hits could disrupt frequency and hackers might allso play a role as well. College teams seem to go great w/ the band and I have noticed more and more NFL teams going to it.

Coach to QB radio communication is part of the fagging-down of the NFL.

NEVER should have been allowed into the game.....NEVAH.

Next season QBs will wear red flags and instead of being tackled the defensive players must rip them off. but they must not do it in a hostile manner or they will be flagged 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct.

I've got a couple of co-workers who could melt Luther's pacemaker with their rigs. And they don't look very conspicuous at all. Especially in a big assed parking lot with 50,000 or so other cars, trucks, vans, RVs and news trucks with satellite gear etc.

Yeah, assuming the NFL has a few intercept posts set up a couple of miles apart that are capable of triangulating a broadcast. Or not.

It really wouldn't take a bunch of special equipment to jam if you knew the freqs. A hand-held walkie-talkie fairly close to the sideline would likely be enough to disrupt coach to QB comms.
