Jack belongs in the HOF.

On deck for '07 entry: Cal Ripken, Tony Gwynn, & Mark McGwire.
Ripken and Gwynn will get in, but we'll have to see how the steroids issue
affects McGwire's chances.

Of course I'm pulling for Morris to get into the Hall. Jim Rice should be in there for sure. If Eddie Murray got in for being a jerk to the media...why is Rice getting the freeze out? Definitely not an exciting year for the HOF.

I hate the voting method that baseball uses, the other 3 sports have a combo of media/players/executives vote for who gets in their respective halls.

You know next year that there is going to be some idiot writers that will not vote for Ripken or Gwynn because "they don't compare to Babe Ruth." :roll:

Eddie Murray had 500 HR and 3000 hits. Rice doesn't come close to sniffing either. How in the fuck can you compare the two?

Rice had 4 HOF years. He was very good for about a 10 year stretch. However, he didn't accumulate the stats necessary for HOF consideration. He was never on a championship team. He sucked in the field and on the bases. He always seemed to hit into a DP in clutch late inning situations. In the end, his last 3 years killed him. He only had 31 HR and 161 RBI during that stretch and called it quits at only age 36 because he didn't take care of himself. He turned into a lardass with no skills because he was too lazy to keep in shape. For real. Dude couldn't get off of the couch and put down the bag of Doritos during the off-season, so his career tanked and he quit. Fuck that lazy, fat fucking bitch. I've never seen someone whose skills diminished so rapidly. How dare you compare him to Murray. If you want to compare him to Tony Perez, that'd be worth arguing over. But Murray? Nigga... please.

That could be a double edge sword because there have been some recent inductees to the NHL Hall of Fame that shouldn't be in there. Clark Gillies coming to mind.

I had to laugh at Cowherd yesterday when he was offering his take that "if you have to construct an argument that I guy should be an HOFer, then he is not an HOFer" implying that it is a "know it when you see it" type of deal.

He then immediately begins to construct an argument why Rice is an HOFer after he attempted to negate the legitimacy of doing so. Dumbass.

I think Morris should def be in. He was the most dominant pitcher of the 80s. I think Gossage should have beenn in as well.

Not only was Morris the winningest pitcher of the 80's but he shined in the fall classic with some all-time performances. He deserves to be in Cooperstown and it should have been before Sutter for sure.
