Is Dungy the Defensive Bill Walsh?

Might sound stupid, but I have been thinking about this for a while. Now that Marinelli has become a HC, Dungy has spawned a lot of coaches on the defensive side of the ball. At one point, he had Kiffin at DC, Marinelli at DL, Lovie SMith at LBs and Herm Edwards as Secondary Coach. Pretty impressive if you ask me. I dont think any modern coach in the past 10-15 years can say this. Too bad he he cant win the big one.
Not too mention that Walsh perfected the West Coast Offense as Dungy did the Tampa 2.

Dungy didn't perfect shit. The Cover 2 Dungy uses he learned at the feet of Bud Carson when he played in Pittsburgh.

But Dungy made it mainstream. No one was running it until he perfected it. Now half the league does.

No one was running it?
If they want to discover some of the nuances of the familiar-looking defense employed by their AFC divisional playoff opponent, the Steelers don't have to go very far or dig very deep to find the playbook that contains the secret.
It might not be the updated playbook of the Indianapolis Colts, the team they play at 1 p.m. tomorrow in the RCA Dome.
But it's the defensive playbook of the 1973 Steelers, and it's right there in the Great Hall at Heinz Field, among the other black-and-gold artifacts on display in the mini-museum.
It was donated by Mike Wagner, a safety from the four Super Bowl teams of the '70s, and it contains the cover-two defense introduced by former defensive coordinator Bud Carson -- the same defense used by Colts coach Tony Dungy, a member of some of those Steel Curtain defenses.

And let's not even talk about how Joe Paterno and his staff devised cover two schemes back in the 60s.

Dungy? I am thinking Kiffin groomed those guys.....otherwise why haven't the colts staff been raided at all?

Yeah, the Cover 2 is just a late 90's thing, didn't you hear? And so is the WCO. Plus, both Walsh and Dungy have 3 Super Bowl titles apeice, hence the comparison.

Sorta like the WCO that Walsh used he learned at the feet of Paul Brown when he coached in Cincinnati.
If you want to take it to it's logical conclusion, they are all Pop Warner's bitches.

Impressive because all of his diciples have the same number of rings?
If only Buffalo would get their act together, they could rename the AFC East to AFC Belchick.
On a side note, how pissed must Romeo and Charlie be after all those years of waiting, then Mangini gets a job after his 1st year as DC
