There's your minority interview. Someone got this guy to go from team to team looking for a job. WTF?????

He'll get a coordinator's gig somewhere as a result of his being a good little token. That's not exactly chump change compared to a position coach.

The whole notion of interviewing minorities is bullshit. Fact is there are very few minorities in the NFL that would be a good hire. Maybe that will change but the best man should get the job.

Wow. Just. Wow.

Either I've been trolled, or you're the most ignorant person on the planet.

My money is on the latter.

Not ignorant. Seriously. Name me 5 quality minorities that would be a great hire?

Dont say Singletary. Dude has one year of position coaching experience.

Ummmm,Singletary was linebackers coach in Baltimore for about 3 years before he moved over to San Francisco.

What? You want me to list 5 minorities?

I'm not an NFL general manager (I just play one in FF), but if were I could prolly come up with at least 5.

But according to you, "the whole notion is bullshit", so what's the point?

That blanket, broad brush statement is what struck me as being totally ignorant.

See you cant even name 5. Thats my point. The reason there is such a lack of minorities coaching is that the pool is the size of a kiddy pool. Not saying that wont change 10 years down the road once blacks start getting assistant jobs and working there way up. I just dont want to see qualified white coaches passed over for black coaches who havent paid their dues yet, just so the blacks can be better represented.

There's the rub. Coaches, white or black, get recycled so often, who's to say who's qualified and who isn't?

Hey, I wanted Al Saunders, not Herm Edwards. Had nothing to do with the color of their skin. It would seem you just have a problem in general with the NFL's mandatory policy of having to interview at least one minority candidate, and I can understand that. But that policy certainly doesn't mandate that the minority be given the job.

So where's the harm in at least interviewing, even if it's only a token gesture? Just having been interviewed might give that person a leg up for the next job opening.
