I see by the schedule that the game starts at 6 PM. Does it really start at 6 or will there be pregame crap?
How long do you think the game will last?
I have a bet with my son (who has to work until 9 PM) that the game will probably be in the the 3rd quarter or very early in the 4th quarter when he gets out of work.

He's 16 and learning the reality of $$$. It don't come easy!!

The game supposedly kicks off at 6:18 EST, but that won't happen as they cram in a few more last minute commercials and loads of hype. Look for kickoff about 6:30. By 9:00 pm they will midway thru the 3rd qtr.

The kick off is 6:18pm. NFL Rules dictate that the teams play four 15 minute quarters. If, at the end of 60 minutesthe score is tied, the teams will play in what's called Sudden Death Overtime. Following a three-minute intermission after the end of the regulation game, play will be continued in 15-minute periods or until there is a score. There is a two-minute intermission between subsequent periods. The teams change goals at the start of each period. Each team has three time outs per half and all general timing provisions apply as during a regular game. Disqualified players are not allowed to return.
Hope this helped

Are you taking away his money that he needs to pay his speeding tickets?

BBMarley,
I have 3 sons. The oldest one got the speeding ticket. He has paid it (himself) and is now paying for his insurance (in cash)..
My second son - almost 17.. will get license soon is the one that I have the friendly bet with.
Cueball,
Often, using sarcasm shows your true ignorance... This time is no exception.
Your "rules" for football time do not take into account ..
"Commercials" and breaks in the action for penalties, out of bounds, time outs, etc..
The SuperBowl is one big Commercial with many commercials along the way. SuperBowls last much longer than regular games. Hell, the half time will probably take close to an hour.
Make a note - for next year. You say the game is a 60 minute game.
Note how long it really is. My guess is 4 hours from start to finish.

Stareted at 6:25 and ended at 10:00.
1st qtr - 40 minutes.
2nd qtr- 49 minutes
Half time - 35 minutes
3rd qtr- 41 minutes
4th qtr - 50 minutes.
It was a game until the final 4 minutes.. and it was desperation until 2 minutes left.. It wasn't ICED until the final seconds...
Congrats Pitssburgh and Pittsburgh fans!!
Next year it will be the Patriots., again!!! Enjoy it while you have it!!
