U.S. stock futures edged upwards on Tuesday, with another job cuts announcement by a Big Three automaker, another decline in oil prices and an upgrade on Wal-Mart Stores helping sentiment and a flurry of earnings releases to sort through.
S&P 500 futures rose 3 points at 1,272.20 and Nasdaq 100 futures were up 5 points at 1,693.0. On Monday, Dow industrials rose 21 points at 10,688, the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.8 of a point at 2,248 and the S&P 500 added 2.3 points at 1,263, helped by a profit surprise from Ford Motor Co. and a decline in crude oil prices.
