for that boneheaded move in drafting Darko ahead of Carmelo but all they've done since is win a title (2004), go to the finals (2005) and have the best record in the NBA (2006).
Obviously, that had little effect on the team. That was still a dumbass move though. Carmelo probably scores more points in a week than Darko has scored in his entire career. They're rid of him now.

At the time, the Pistons already had forwards who could score, but what they lacked was a scoring threat in the blocks and a guard who could score off the bench. They thought Darko could be the low post scoring threat. Obviously, they were wrong. At the time I really wanted Wade and to a lesser extent, Bosch. Oh well.

If they had Bosh, there would have been no need to trade for rasheed. Drafting Draco was a mistake, but they havent needed that pick to do anything.

I give Joe D. a pass on this one. At the time it was a freebie pick from a trade a couple years before. Everyone bellowed for a big guy, Darko was getting all the pub. Didn't need Mello as the emergence of Tayshaun was imminent. So it made sense to take a flyer. Joe always said he was a project, hell DM isn't 21 yet. He may turn out to be a player in this league yet. I'll pull for him.

They still needed a consistant front court scoring option, and I doubt Bosch would have been that as a rookie.

Yeah, like Joey D is the type of guy that would draft a guy with gang tattoos.
