I am looking for a good, preferably free, DVD player program for my PC. My burner came with PowerDVD... is that one just as good as any other one out there (i.e., low usage of system resources, easy to use) or do you cats recommend another?

I've got Power DVD with my Burner, and WinDVD at home. I haven't noticed any significant difference in performance. WinDVD is more polished, but it sure as hell ain't free. If you've got PowerDVD, you should be good to go. Also with the DVD Codec installed with PowerDVD, you can use Windows Media to play DVD's and see if that's more to your liking.

low usage of system resources
When you are playing a DVD, are you not essentially throwing system resource conservation to the wind?
Checking through Quicken during The Passion of the Christ or something? ;)
p.s. WinDVD for me

I'm a multitasking mofo... that, or I have acute ADD.
I know it isn't critical in this case, but I like my software lean, baby.

This link might include that same player in it's bundle , but it has a lot of codecs , and has a link to Real Player Alternative , which is Real player without all the shit with it .

I went ahead and installed the PowerDVD after trying PSUFAN's suggestion (despite what it says there, it didn't like playing a DVD). Only uses ~10,000K of my memory, so I can still do other crap. Thanks for the suggestions.
