This is kind of how I go about things. I usually won't pay much attention to a band unless they get some kind of publicity, soundtrack, word of mouth, video....

Sometimes they end up popular, at other times they don't and sometimes I just like different songs or albums that other fans of the same bands don't.

A couple of years ago on a late night trip home, during a local talent show I heard a song on they radio I loved. I called the next morning with the band name and song. They had no clue and said I should try and contact that DJ during that hour the next week.

I dunno it just seemed like too much trouble to me. I know either the band name or the song title had Mercury in it.
