I don't see Oakland going with A. Walter as their starter.

Hasn't historically been Al's way to hand over the keys to an unproven (and young) QB.

Gotta believe there's a vet on his way in to Oakland.

So which one will it be...?

the EVIL BASTARD in me says Chad Pennington!

But, somehow (no matter what has been said previously), a hobbled Culpepper might end up coming your way.

if that doesn't happen...how's about Gallery for Dilfer--->straight UP?

Gallery is a BUST....right?

Jon Kitna to the Raiders?

That all depends on how much the Bungles throw at Kitna to stay in Cinci. Oh, and wether or not Carson Palmer can recover. But the Raiders could do worse than Kitna. Like they could sign Brees.

Say what you want, BSmack, but Kitna ain't no slouch. He just happened to be unexpectedly thrown to the dogs in the divisionals vs. the Stillers this year. You can't deny that Kitna has traditionally performed quite well vs. the Stillers.

While every other Stiller fan was breathing a sigh of relief when Kitna trotted out to the five yard line vs. the Stillers, I about shit my pants.

Kitna won't fare any better than Collins unless the OL improves. If it does, then any number of QBs would be more that suitable. BTW, running the ball can help a shitty line coalesce. I don't see that happening much for you guys.

I'm not bagging on Kitna at all. I'm quite serious that Kitna would be a better fit for the Raiders than Brees.

Due to the extension 'til Thursday on the start of free agency, Carrie is still a Raiduh......for now.

RACK Paul.

As tart stated, I dont see Al handing over the offense to a second year QB. I'll call brees donning the silver and black just to stick it up AJ's ass twice a year for being a fucking prick.

Charlie Batch?

dont laugh, hes a free agent and we could get him for a bargain. He's no Gannon but he is a decent QB when put in the right situation. Playing for the Lions was/is a no-win situation and Batch was made the scapegoat. If I'm not mistaken,he got the starting job the first year after Barry hightailed it out of the Silverdome.

I still say we trade Jerry Porter for a late first round,or second round pick.

RACK that shit.

Porter is absolutely incredible against press coverage-and thats about fucking it. Sloppy route running and hands of stone are what this motherfucker is all about. Dude is also nearly as fucking stupid as Buchanon when the mike is near his manrod puffers.

Gabriel is a fucking monster-and Curry will be 100% this season-both are excellent WR's and have flourished greatly and shown true leadership when given the opportunity to play.

I wouldn't cry if Porter was dealt.

He can look GREAT at times, yes, but far too often all but disappears for 2 or 3 games at a time.

He also seems to think he's the 2nd coming of Jerry Rice.

Q, I wish I could find what I was looking for on Gallery, but I saw O-line stats on another board a number of months ago, and Robert Gallery MORE than held his own against numbers put up by the likes of O. Pace, T. Boselli, W. Roaf, and some other outstanding lineman in their first two years in the league.

The stats basically dealt with sacks allowed and penalties.
Gallery has not had that many of either.

It's very difficult to quantitatively measure what an O-lineman is/isn't doing for his team on the field.

I think this coming season will tell a lot about R. Gallery.
I expect him to be put in his proper position (LT), and I expect to see him perform well there.
B. Sims played that spot last season, supposedly because he couldn't play any other spot on the line, and Oakland wanted him somewhere on the line.

I dunno.

I think the 'Gallery is a bust' blather is just that.

Oakland's line was an absolute clusterfuck the last two seasons.

He's a young player, and I think Art will get him, and the rest of the line, playing good ball as next season moves along.

How 'bout Collins for Dilfer....?

Wait a minute here.

Moss was injured, "Collins sucks" and now Porter sucks too?

What exactly are we trying to say here? Your team is so fucked up, you don't know who to fucking blame?

Yea, Dilfer can come to OAK and Collins will go to B-More and then they will meet in the playoffs. :P

you can keep Carrie for a couple more days...thx though.

my snide comment about Gallery came from thinking that RAIDERNation was not real Happy about his performance.

DUDE is HUGE....and you're saying that he was playing out of Position because a lesser performing Sims was ALLOWED to Start @ LT?

Clusterfuck on your OL?

Really?

Jesus, Mary and Joseph...WTF?

you're RIGHT poppy--->ART will get that fixed.

so, you're back to what....Culpepper, Brees...Tui?

Kitna isn't getting outta the 'Natti.

Boller or Ramsey?

Dilfer comes for a price....

Porter does not suck, Panther, but he's maddeningly inconsistent..........and his ego needs to shrink a wee bit.

Collins is a fairly average NFL starter.
His mobility is poor, and in today's NFL that's a liability.

My reaction to some of the names you mentioned, Q......

Ramsey - worth a look, if he comes on the cheap

Tui - career back-up, I'm afraid

Boller - no thanks

Culpepper - Better than the above, yes, but not a thrilling prospect, IMO.

Brees - I wouldn't object

Favre, McNair.........?

Dream a little dream.

Favre/McNair...i dunno.

after a 4-12...your team isn't exactly in a JUST WIN RIGHT NOW Baby Position.

those guys would probably not see a Stretcher this season though.

i see you working....

Thoughts on REPLAY coming to Tennis?

(haven't been to the Tard Forum yet...don't know if you've set up your Soap Box already.)

i'll hang up and Listen...TIA!

If the Raiders can't land a QB that is a significant upgrade over Carrie Collins then I'd prefer to see them go with young Andrew Walter.

Tennis replay...?

Setting up the system on a single court will apparently provide that court with 100% accuracy of calls ............ providing players use their challenge(s) when they have, in fact, been 'cheated' out of a point.

A ball is either in or out.
That's all there is to tennis
No grey area at all.
The fact that that is all there is to tennis officiating makes tennis replay sensible.

What is NOT sensible is that the replay system will only be in effect on the the two 'show courts' at the US Open, for example.

There will be, what, 20 or 30 'outside' courts with matches going on that will have no access to replay.

Should baseball go with an 'automated' strike zone...?

If not, why not...?

Collins
Dilfer
Harrington
Charlie Batch
Drew Breese
Garcia

etc.

And yet fooken sportwriters keep nagging, "When is Favre going to retire?" How about "when he damn well pleases?"
