I am sure this is a glass dick but does anyone here have espn insider? Is it worth the money? Do you also get it if you subscribe to ESPN mag?

Fool's gold.

Seriously...how many "personalities" at ESPN do you hold in such high regard that you'd be willing to pay for their shitty ass opinions?

From what I understand the real journalism is found on the insider, they give you the sensational crap for free.

All I know is I used to read Neyer, and thought he completely sucked. Not really sure why I continued to read him. Anyhow, he is now only available on Insider, and I'd NEVER pay to read his crap.

I have Insider and I like it a lot. I mainly got it for the NFL and CFB purposes.

If you like to pay to read unsubstantiated gossip, by all means, ESPN Insider is the way to go. You could chill out at Starbucks for a few hours, make up some shit, post it online, and you'd be getting the same effect.

Yeah, I prefer to come up with my own thoughts and opinions on sports, and I don't even charge myself a fee.

Word.
Problem is, I never had time to read the mag, nor was it a size that could fit into my computer bag for reading on airplanes... hence, I cancelled my subscription.

I never really did use insider when I had the subscription. It only came in handy when some damn retard posted a link to an insider story.

Ditto. Not sure why I continued to read him either. Maybe it was just to see what the pompous ass had to say today, but I would NEVER pay to read what he had to say. He pissed me off so bad one time when he criticized the MLB players for not playing immediately after 9/11 that I sent him an email. I called him a pompous ass and just commented that if the players didn't feel like playing, it was OK they delayed things a week and there's nothing worse than uninspired baseball. He sent a note back saying I'm entitled to my opinion and signed it: "Peace, Rob"

The only subscription site I've ever considered joining is Scout - reason being I would like to support some of the guys who run the PSU Scout site. They had a free site that was one of the best PSU sources of info out there, they were eventually bought out by Scout.

Occasionally they will open the doors to all of the content for a weekend or a day; I find that there isn't much that I'm missing - not enough to justify the expense.

The Oklahoma scout site is pretty damn good. James Hales is a sunshine pumper but he usually nails the recruit on the head as to what is going to happen. I won't post on the free boards because I have an employee who posts around there and we pretty much sound like parrots (I think he posted over here a couple of times but just wasn't his place). I did use the pay board pretty frequently until my father signed up and now I just read because I really don't want to argue with him both in person and on a comp constantly. Man needsa to stop gambling against me as well. He is a hot head moron when it comes to sports is a football homer and a Kelvin Sampson hater. I can count on his hatred for Kelvin Sampson to make me between $500 and $1,000 on him each season. So far I am 7-0 against him fora grand total of $600 this season. You think after 4 years of the same ole shit he would have learned his lesson.

The Rivals boards are a joke and a waste of money if ya ask me.

Never had ESPeoN Insider because I didn't think that a sports tabloid is what I was looking to spend my money on.

It sounds like a lot of the Scout sites are beating the Rivals on content, but they can't keep up with Rivals in terms of video feeds and other knic knacks.

The ND scout site is by far the best on the net. Similar to the PSU story, the guy who runs the site, Mike Frank, use to run a free site off of Rivals called ndsupersite, or something similar. After that went up in smoke, he went to NDNation, and from there he was bought out by scout. He's typically on point w/r/t recruiting, and he has all the info before the other sites. As a rabid ND fan and a recruit-a-holic, well worth the money.

I sent him an e-mail once just telling him he looked like John Tesh.

He replied with a "Haven't heard that one before. Thanks...I think. Rob"
