kind of interesting, though i personally don't agree with all of the author's conjecture and feel that much of the "work" he claims to do was already done in Greil Marcus' "Lipstick Traces"--particularly vis a vis dada/brecht/moderism....it's not clear that debt is paid in this exchange.

worth a read.

Thanks for the link, KC. Hopefully I'll get a chance to read that this weekend since I really enjoyed Rip It Up And Start Again. Simon Reynolds is passionate about his subject, but I'm not sure if it's fair to compare him to Marcus.
