Note on the tourney thus far

It has been great. There have been some upsets, but the thing I like the most is even the games that should be blowouts have been pretty exciting.

Southern played Duke really close into the second half.
GW down 18 came back to win.
A&M upsets Syracuse
Iona played LSU tough into the second half
Northwestern St. defeats #3 Iowa
Bucknell represents by beating Arkansas
San Diego St. blew it against Indiana
GOnzaga barely hangs on to beat a 14 seed
UCLA was down to Belmont early before turning it on
Air Force played a HELL of a game against Illinois
Tennessee hangs on to beat #15 Winthrop by a cunt hair
Another 12 Montana beats a 5 seed
B.C. hold off Pacific at the end
#6 OU falls to an 11 seed
#2 OSU gets a good run from Davidson

I’ve never seen an opening round this good. I’m 14-6 on my bracket. My fantasy game is all but over with my shit picks. All my bets are pretty much worthless right now and I don’t care. This is the best tournament I’ve seen thus far through the first round and it isn’t over yet.

I agree. This is the best 1st Round I think I have ever seen. UCLA is the only Top Seed that has truly dominated so far.

Arizona laid the wood to Wisconsin, but I didn't see that one so I'm not sure if it was really that much of a blowout.

Don't know if it's the best I've ever seen, but it's definitely been exciting. I usually keep tabs on how many games go into OT or 2OT in the first and second rounds.

I seem to remember a year in the late-90s when there were like eight games or something in the first round that went into OT or more, and another six or so in the second round.

So far, so good this year. Very few blowouts from start to finish.

I am a little peaved at the local Tulsa CBS affiliate for breaking away at 5 p.m. to show the local news, even though there are still games going on. Same thing happened last night when the Washington-Utah State game had most of the second half left. Somebody mentioned in another thread that it would be so much better if ABC/ESPN covered the tournament. I agree from that perspective -- no local news necessary on ESPN. I understand they might have people who want to see the local news ... just don't fucking tell me that the afternoon or evening session is over and promo the next session, which is what CBS does. Asshats.

Oh, and agree with KC about the GW game. I got home from work in the second half of that game, and not only did my gf have it on, she was totally into it. RACK her.

Arizona beat the crap out of Wisconsin. The game was never close.

Yes, but did you see it coming? I fully expected that to be a good game. Kind of makes Arizona's next game a little more interesting.
