Duke v. GW starts it off - nationwide coverage at 1:10 eastern. Should be a hell of a game.

-- I think that A&M / LSU could be a good game... although if Davis owns Jones, it could get ugly. But, I said this at the beginning of the Dance. A&M could be an Elite Eight / Sweet Sixteen type team if Jones has one of those Antonio McDyess type tournaments....
-- Fuck Bucknell. I'm also going to be printing shirts that say the same thing. If anybody's interested, let me know.
-- I give Babs a chance to one-up me and his squad pisses down its leg. Priceless.
-- 12 of my round of 16 and 6 of my round of 8 are still intact, including my Final Four. I can live with that.

The overrated Volunteers go down...I doubt many should be surprised by that result.

Possibly one of the worst two seeds in history.

Looks like UNC and UConvict will be getting easy roads to the elite eight - and of course I'll be rooting for a meteor to hit the arena when they get there.

Nice chokejob by the Illini.
The Pac10 still sucks, BTW.

Way to go Illinois. Up 11, under 10 minutes to play. Well, there's one Final Four team gone.

Jones for UW was guarding Dee Brown and Augustine at different times during the game. that's pretty verstile.

Still not impressed.
For a 'seer' you don't seem to make a lot of before the fact predictions, BTW.

I didn't post predictions.....just responded to your inane factless blurb about the Pac 10 being gone after the 2nd round....

'inane factless blurb?
What kind of facts do you want on a pre-selection prediction?
Aside from historical trends and the fact that your conferance still sucks?

The ACC is 6-0 going into today's games. I figure UNC will beat George Mason and NC State will lose to Texass, putting the record at 7-1 with three teams in the Sweet Sixteen.

Only Ohio State remains out of the Big Ten...some conference that turned out to be. ACC is a case of quality over quantity. I'd put Duke, BC and Carolina against the top 3 in every conference and they would prevail more times than not. The Big East is the only one that can match or beat that top 3.

Here, here.....
Maybe the Committee will wake up next year and realize that maybe the Big 10 isnt all its cracked up to be and not give them more than the ACC when the ACC beats them every year in the Challenge.

The Big Ten was filled with a lot of good teams...not great ones. The jury is still out with the Buckeyes but I wouldn't call them great regardless. They looked like a tougher conference because they beat each other up...that's mostly because no team really grabbed that league by the balls. The Bucks are probably the only team that showed some form of dominance throughout the year. Different teams had their moments but no one was going on a great run from start to finish.

Roy Williams almost went Bobby Knight on a chair....it was the no call on the trip in the backcourt.

GO TO HELL CAROLINA, GO TO HELL!

Nothing better than an upset with Gus Johnson at the mic. Good stuff!
Carolina was horrible to start the second half...so many empty possessions, missed shots and bad turnovers. To Mason's credit, they played tough defense and knocked down their shots. Gotta love the Cinderalla matchup next week between Wichita State and George Mason for the right to make it to the Elite 8.
How about UConn...looking shaky again. Kentucky has them on the ropes.

Well, Kentucky would have a shot if they could grab a freaking rebound off UConn's missed FT's. 3 straight misses they allowed UConn to get the rebound and get points. If UConn wins, they went from having the hardest to bracket, to having to beat a couple mid-majors to get to the Final 4.

That matchup with Washington won't be a picnic...

UConn is like watching the NBA..lots of talent but not much interest. And horrific to watch.

Big 10 shit the bed big time.
MVC showed and proved, as did the Colonial who should have had 3 bids.
Big East flexing their muscle.
Shelden Williams punched me while I typed this post, Ed Hightower called me for a foul for my face making contact with Williams' hand.

after Packer and Nance whined all through the selection show about the MVC, it would have been a beautiful thing to have them working either the Bradley game today or WSU-Tennessee yesterday.

Fixed that for ya...
You knew they were biting their tongue when they had to talk about the three mid-majors that made it to the Sweet 16. I heard them say 'good for them' but you know they didn't mean it. They would've rather seen Maryland, Cincinnati and Michigan in their place.

I don't support Packer/Nantz's post selection comments, but the "don't deserve to be there" argument should only be based on regular season results. I don't think it's fair to look at the results of the tourney later and say, "yep, that team deserved to be there and that team didn't", because you're amounting 1 or 2 wins as a determinant, when the relevance only lies in what these teams did during the regular season.
