Anybody else aware of this action?

Seems there's a nationwide effort by some Hispanic groups to organize a work stoppage on Friday, March 24th. I also saw on the news where there was a large protest/demonstation in Milwaukee today probably related to this event.

I understand that they're protesting immigration reform, or a lack thereof, and want to get a message across about how much economic power they have.

Being as how 75% of the welders at my company are hispanic, it looks as if we're going to be virtually shut down if they all follow thru.

Sucks for them, though. Friday is payday.

Not sure, but pretty certain that they wouldn't let Hispanics be responsible for brewing suds...that'd be un-American and a threat towards vital interests.

it's not gonna happen. for a thousand reasons, it's just not gonna happen.

hispanics are not blacks, when it comes to that version of the unity thing (blacks are notoriously fractious in other ways, but something like this...). And making people who are already afraid miss a full day's wage.. for what?

you only do that when you offer people something to go to int he process, like, I don't know, a march on washington or something to show strength and solidarity, or a march on each capital. not just sit at home on your ass and basically cut off your nose to spite your face with some hissy fit of the 'i'll hold my breath until i die until you love me' persuasian.

and doing a walkout, if you are one of the 'undocumented' fucks you, as an undocumented, up the ass since there will be plenty more where you came from who won't give a damn.

This was a bad idea. There has to be a better way than to screw over hard working but here illegally people than to FUCK THEM OVER by making them miss a day's wage. How fucking stupid is that in the first place?

as for the other, it's not right to ask illegals to 'not show up' in order to 'show them', aka anglos. they need the money, that's why they're here in the first place; and what one won't do, the next 100 will. there are better ways of dealing with illegal issues.

It's the manner in which he responds though. He goes for the provocative hot button, along with and above and beyond the substantive point.
