Now I'm pissed (regarding Dre and Purvis)

Post by Risa »

i hadn't seen a picture of Purvis:

You know Dre. But check out Purvis.

That is not a little boy. On first glance.
It's the hair. Those aren't dreds, and
those aren't boy cornrows. but maybe
styles are different in milwaukee.. and
it's not like little white boys aren't notorious
for having parents intentionally dress them
in feminine ways (or even seeking to do
so themselves).. so i'll read the article
attached to this photo for a little more info...

Milwaukee police: 'We just simply don't know where they are'
MILWAUKEE (AP) — An airplane equipped with heat sensors searched Thursday for two missing boys while bloodhounds scrambled through the neighborhood where the youngsters disappeared, hoping to find clues in a case that has baffled investigators for five days. (Related video: Search for missing boys expands)

Family members suspect the boys were taken by someone, but Linda Krieg, FBI assistant special agent, said there was no evidence the pair had been abducted or a crime committed. (On Deadline: Still no signs of missing Milwaukee boys)

"It's very difficult to abduct a child, let alone two children," Krieg said. "It's outside the norm of what we see in child abduction."

About a half-dozen law enforcement divers linked arms and waded through the icy water of a lagoon at nearby McGovern Park to eliminate the possibility the boys had drowned.

Elsewhere, about 150 volunteers and 12 dogs searched Havenwoods State Forest, while the FBI conducted an aerial search using a Cessna airplane carrying equipment to detect body heat.

But the efforts produced no clues in the disappearance of Quadrevion Henning, 12, and Purvis Virginia Parker, 11, who were last seen Sunday afternoon heading out to play basketball at a park.

"We absolutely don't have any information about where they would be and why they would leave of their own accord," police spokeswoman Anne E. Schwartz said at a news conference. "We just simply don't know where they are."

Police urged parents of the boys' classmates to check their property in case the children crawled into an attic or a car trunk.

"We want them to look anywhere they can that children might hide," Schwartz said.

Henning attends LaBrew Troopers Military University School, hoping to follow his grandfather and father into military service. Parker loves sketching and attends Elm Creative Arts School.

The boys' homes are just two blocks apart in a quiet northwest side neighborhood. A reward fund grew to $23,000 Thursday for information leading to their safe return.

People withholding information about missing boys, police say
BY BOB PURVIS
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

MILWAUKEE - Police now believe people who know something about two missing Milwaukee boys are withholding information that could lead to a major break in the investigation.

"We have reason to believe there are individuals with information that is pertinent to this investigation who for reasons unknown to us right now aren't coming forward," Milwaukee Police spokeswoman Anne E. Schwartz said at a Friday afternoon briefing.

The news was the first major development announced in the five-day search for Quadrevion Henning, 12, and Purvis Virginia Parker, 11, last seen Sunday afternoon.

Schwartz said information developed in the department's joint investigation with the FBI led them to the conclusion that someone is withholding information that could prove useful to authorities.
Despite receiving hundreds of phone calls and tips in the days after their disappearance, police had maintained they had no leads, until Friday afternoon.

"We are making a specific plea to those people to please come forward, we need them to come forward as soon as possible," Schwartz said.
Schwartz would not give any more specific information about the developments, or characterize who authorities were appealing to.

The boys were last seen at 3:30 p.m. CST Sunday when they told Henning's grandfather that they were going out to play basketball. Police aren't sure they ever made it to the courts.

Schwartz said the information investigators seek would be crucial to retracing the boys' whereabouts step-by-step Sunday.

"We need anyone who saw them at anytime on Sunday to call us and give us the information," Schwartz said.

She has said that the boys' families are being very cooperative.

Schwartz also announced that police were through scouring the roughly 1.5 square-mile area around where the boys were last seen. Now the investigation shifts back to the boy's neighborhood, where police and FBI agents were going door to door interviewing neighbors Friday. The boys lived about two blocks apart.

"Now we're going back and doing good old fashioned police work; sitting down, talking to people, having a conversation and asking a number of questions," Schwartz said.

An exhaustive search followed the boys' disappearance, drawing hundreds of volunteers, and national media attention.

Divers searched the lagoon in McGovern Park, the FBI's Child Abduction Rapid Deployment Team conducted an aerial search with infrared cameras, and 150 volunteers, aided by bloodhounds from Illinois, covered the Havenwoods State Forest without turning up any physical evidence.

In other developments:
_Police directed tips to a national toll-free line, 877-628-3804.
_Schwartz said police would alert the news media if volunteers were needed to search other areas.
_Police and the FBI began working from a larger nerve center. Investigators had been working from mobile command posts. Those posts will remain, Schwartz said.

The center, designed for use in natural disaster and other major events, was activated so police and FBI could work together in one room big enough to post maps and other materials, Schwartz said. She declined to say where the center is, in an effort to keep public attention away from it and allow investigators to work.

_Police today also issued a more recent photo of Henning and updated description of his clothing. They said he was wearing a white zip-up jacket with blue stripes on the arms, a black over-sized T-shirt over a white T-shirt, dark jeans and red-white-and-blue athletic shoes.
_Postal carriers began delivering 54,000 fliers to homes and businesses in the area.
_A reward fund for information leading to the missing boys grew to about $30,000 with $5,000 from Walgreen's and $2,000 from the state Attorney General's office.

Cynthia Fox, Purvis' grandmother, said the family is together hoping and praying for the boys' safe return.

"We're hanging together, we're praying together," Fox said. "We remain hopeful."

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel correspondent John Diedrich contributed to this report.

can we get a more recent photo of purvis?

and where the hell are these kids? this is some bullshit. did Purvis live with grandparents?

i can't enlarge the photo to find out what exactly is going on with what appears to be a black pigtail, especially considering that those are the tips of cornrows (which are unisex now) over the shoulder.. could be anything... but damn, 'virginia'?

something is not right.

Wanna hear a chemical imbalance? I told a man 'no' back in January because he reminded me of you. Not because he was married (his wife was not only right there, but gave him the green light; more women should be upfront bi, it makes things a lot easier, a lot smoother), not because he dropped the Five Words You Never Wanna Say To Any Black Woman Who Doesn't Go By Chocolate or Ebony, and not because I already got off because he had the insane ability to make love with his eyes alone and therefore was very bad news.

All of that was outside of the point.

I told him 'no' because he reminded me of you. And that really fucked up my night. It really, really fucked up my night, and he didn't intend it, any of it.

So there's my self-inflicted dance on the edge of a nervous breakdown.

There's my chemical imbalance. You. I don't cry as much anymore. Maybe by summer, I won't feel anything at all anymore. I can laugh. Or smile more.

And somebody fucked up referring to Purvis Virginia as a boy..... or there's WAY more to this story than two little boys going out for basketball and never coming back....

or two little boys have been kidnapped, and it doesn't matter what's going on with Purvis Virginia.. Dre and Purvis need to be rescued, no matter where they are now.
on a short leash, apparently.
