Gotta agree about Two and a Half Men, definitely, along with the Monday night How I Met Your Mother. We love those two.
Also My Name is Earl and Everybody Hates Chris (not sure if that counts because its UPN)

saw 'everybody hates chris' once, at work. surprisingly quality show. better than 'bernie mac'. better than a lot of shit, including 'arrested development' and the strange 'scrubs'.
but that was only one looksee. still, very good vibes from the one looksee.

That's like being the best player on the 49ers. It just doesn't mean much.

Arrested Development is gone, so unless a ball is being thrown around on TV I have zero reason to watch the networks.

If by "best comedy" you mean "only good comedy" -- The Office.
WAR no stupid laugh track to tell you what's funny.

Whaaa? I'm surprised you didn't like what was essentially different from anything else at the time...not to mention phenomenal stuff going on at the same time...writing/acting. You suck.

I think by sitcom, they meant real people.
Family Guy is nails though.

Family Guy is flat out the funniest show ever produced. But there's too many dullards stricken with ADD to get that.

I think your point is both silly and inaccurate.
For example,
I'm a dullard stricken with ADD, yet I "get" Family Guy, and...
It's time to
EJECT!!!! now, isn't it?

if Showtime is considered a Network, then I go with Penn and Tellers Bullshit, if not 2 and a half men

you are insane.
sincerely,
the dave chappelle show
early SNL (drug years)
Married with Children, steve and jefferson eras
Simpsons seasons 1 - before it got old
King of Hill is great. Well rounded.
Family Guy is trash (except for Stewie, Lois and Brian).
Funny how sarcasm tends to be "silly" and "inaccurate".
if we don't watch the crap, how are we supposed to get you're being sarcastic?

Scrubs also doesn't employ a laugh track. Neither does Bernie Mac. Automatic 200 points for all three of these shows. Malcolm in the Middle didn't either, though, did it? It started to overstay it's welcome, but Early Malcolm is great TV. Shit, even middling Malcolm is great tv.
Another show that didn't employ a laughtrack: Sledgehammer. Great show. Time slot of death.
I watched AD once, the pilot. I thought it was good. A little wobbly without the laugh track, but I thought it was good. Wasn't must-see TV, but (again) I thought it was good. Therefore it was doomed.
Scrubs... I have no idea what's going on with that show. Sometimes that shit is surreal...
and most times it tries too hard. but I figured out what it was trying to do, and I wanted it to succeed, too.
Much better quality than some 'my wife and kids' bullshit.
But 'Everybody Hates Chris' is head and shoulders above all of them. But only from the one looksee. That's my caveat.

and it's been years since i've seen family guy. that whole wierd dynamic between brian the dog, stewie the baby, and lois the mom was brilliant, brilliant brilliant.
so what was the deal with the racist father?

Oh, I guess I was just confused. I didn't realize "trash" and "brilliant" meant the same thing in No-You-DI'INT-ese. My bad.
so what was the deal with the racist father?
You mean the "racist father" whose best friend is black?
Yeah, a "shock and awe" comedy would NEVER try and exploit race for a laugh.

Whatever, ho. The dynamic is brilliant. But the rest of it is trash .. as opposed to a King of the Hill where everything works. When did they come up for a black best friend for the racist dad?
Is he his Griff?

I'm not 100% sure, but if I recall correctly...
the first episode.

I saw the first episode. I never wanted to see it again. Caught an episode by accident later, and that's when my heart softened, a little bit.
I do not remember anything from that first episode except how hard it was trying to be 'hip' and 'fresh' and 'different'.
and the Kool Aid Man busting through the wall. Ohhhhh yeaaaaah.
*click*
But a black best friend? yeah right. proof.

Now I've seen it all. Arguing over whether a "CARTOON" Character is a racist. A Cartoon character with black friends at that. A cartoon Character that is the direct descendant of a slave. Anyone remember Nate Griffin? Anyone remeber Peter sharing his reparations with his black brothers?
IB, shut your fucking hole. You know nothing of which you speak. You'll find any excuse in the world to raise the issue of race. I know you think it raises awareness, and you're right. All of us are very aware that you're an ignorant cunt. Mission accomplished.

Risa. Peter's black best friend is actually voiced by a white man which makes the character that much more funny. His name is Cleveland, which reminds me of Rochester from Jack Benny's show and Birmingham from Charlie Chan, two very stereotypical and funny characters. (I'm pretty sure that is what Seth McFarlane was going for when he created the supposedly docile black sidekick for the white protagonist) Anyway, Family Guy is one of the best shows on the air period and I watch it and all the reruns on AS. Peter is bigoted, sexist, and extremely clueless, ala Archie Bunker which made All In The Family great and Family Guy great.

Unfortunately, Risa ain't bright enough to get the parody/corrolation.
