Or a Political Smack Off, if you will. But in order to limit what could make such a thing a snooze fest, I propose that it not be tournament style as with traditional smackoffs. Lefties and Righties elect who they think will be the best representative of their side. The esteemed entrants then get five posts each (something like that) to convince the judges (say, five board independents, or at least those who can act like it) of which orientation is supreme.
Most of the political fare here is reactive: something newsworthy is posted and there are reactions to it and reactions to the reactions. It could be entertaining and instructive to see how well the best of the sides can put together a viable pro series of posts.
To represent the conservative side, I nominate Tom in Va. Dude is nailz.

A Spin-Off, anyone?

Dumb idea. Anybody willing to label themself as being either clearly left or clearly right to the point they want to represent that side, quite frankly, is an idiot.
So, if the entire field of participants you're soliciting are idiots, how good an idea can it possibly be?

Dude, in real life fellas like Rush Limbaugh consider me a lefty. I consider myself a moderate, right leaning. For the sake of board banter, I identify with the right wing. WGARA? So you're an independent. Great. We need judges of that inclination. You in?
