Lombardi and Brian Sutter as coach!

Brian Sutter as coach? Even though I like Sutter as a coach he's a hard nosed guy who makes the players work hard. Isn't that the reason Murray was let go because he made them work too hard?

I wouldn't claim to know, because I haven't paid a lot of attention to the matter, but I would guess that with Murray it was a situation where his message got blurred over time. He'd been in there so long the players tuned him out.

I highly doubt the Kings would be looking for some sort of country club atmosphere where players can come in and not work. Brian Sutter would be a demanding coach looking for results, and his message would appear fresh and new, despite the fact that it's mostly the same message as Andy Murray's.

But beware the Sutter named Brian. He is not Darryl or Brent. Brian plays favourites in the dressing room. That sort of thing can lead to Jeff Shantz centering your first line.

Ahhh, yes....the Sutter coaching train now stopping in L.A. They played for a lot of teams....now they're coaching for a lot of teams.

I think it was the same BS that AM had been giving them the past few years...switching lines too often as well.

I hope the Kings aren't expecting miracles 'cause the new guy has the last name Lombardi! :P

The early word is Crawford will be offered the job as coach.

Crawford? Wouldn't he have to be fired in Vancouver first? l

Certainly would make the Kings tougher, Crawford has never had a problem dressing an enforcer AND using him.

Mike Keenan is currently the GM in Florida, and staying relatively quiet too. His shelf-life is probably a lot longer in a position in which his personal contact with the players is kept to a minimum, ie, NOT COACHING.

No way Benedict Arnold errrr Quinn gets the coaching gig in LA. He jumped ship in the middle of the 1986-87 season to coach and GM Vancouver. Besides he has a bad habit of not playing young players sticking with stiffs like Allison, Tucker, etc.

Tucker got 61 points this year, I would hardly call him a stiff, and you are letting your Leaf hate cloud your judgement. He a couple of years he was in the 60-point range as well, so this year wasn't just a fluke.

Exactly and he managed to do that AND get under other teams skin and inside their heads...

Once again...I get it right. I called it almost a month ago.
