Believe the Heupel wrote:So just a few days ago Scottie Reynolds says that everything is great and that he likes Coach Capel and is going to go to Oklahoma as planned.

Today, apparently he's asked for and been granted a release from his LOI, but still considers OU his leader. He's supposed to have an in-house with Capel tomorrow.

WTF?

Lots of rumors about contact between Reynolds and Tommy Ammaker-which, if true, should get Michigan whacked by the NCAA. Contact between a school and a kid with a signed LOI is absolutely a no-no.
Amakewr has made contact through the HC and hasn't "techinically" broken any NCAA rules but he did brake the spirit of the rule and committed an unethical act, regardless of the outcome.

Scottie Reynolds is the source Indy.

He is documented in interviews both taped and transcribed as stating that Amaker has contacted him since KS left Oklahoma.

what's baffling to me, is how long it's taking to Punish Oklahoma for cheating.

let's remember, MU was busted for illegal phone calls. 40ish calls!

OU had more than 400 of these illegal calls.

will we see justice? 2 years of not leaving campus to recruit, cut in scholarships??? Highly unlikely.

Word is that is if, and even if not, Scottie leaves Ben Uzoh now wants to attend OU.

I'd rather have scottie as well but the sky is not falling as some seem to think.

heard a rumor that Damion James backed out of his LOI and truth to that?

i tend to agree with you Froz about Crocker. it's becoming increasingly difficult to sort through what's hyperbole and what's nor re: Uzoh, or does LSU have the schollies for Arthur, James, and Reynolds.....but in the worst case scenario...Uzoh and Hall would seem to be pretty decent gets given the extreme circumstances. Clark would be a nice surprise, but him not qualifying has been news since before Kelvin took the IU job.

i hate to see losing the bulk of the class as more ammo in the slippery slopes of "cleti"/football first knuckle dragging argumentation. until proven otherwise, i still like the "upside" of the Capel hire. next year could be a struggle, though. we'll take some lumps in conference play, i suspect. most of the conference should be improved--except maybe UT, us, Colorado, ISU (who knows?).

Carter needs to step up and show some of the ability to put the ball in the hole he showed at times last year.

in addition to being healthy, i'd like to see AJ and Carter play a little more relaxed and hopefully Capel will let them play through their mistakes more than Kelvin did. He had a pretty quick hook.

It does but Crocker is still coming. If/when we lose scottie reynolds Ben Uzoh is almost a sure bet to come to OU. Top player in San Antonio according the the Express. Not sure what we are going to do about a post player but Mayfield was a bit of a project anyways. These things happen in coaching changes. Scottie claims OU is still #1 but I believe that about as much as I believe that Vito has inside sources on texass athletics.

Personally, I say "fuck 'em." If they don't want to come here, we'll find players that DO, and we'll win with them. Nate is gonna be healthy, and happy.... and if AJ can just get the ball up the court, we'll be NCAA-bound, yet again.

Has Mayfield been officially released yet?

We sure could use a big guy for next season.

Like I said Mucho... the chances of him qualifying are slim to none.

I don't know who your sources are, but I talked with our Men's Basketball SID and apparently that shouldn't be much of an issue.

Source is premium info on another site. Also word is that he is looking to go to the same school as Darrell Arthur or Scottie Reynolds. Weirdest thing is that DJ and SR are the ones who really wanted to be together in the begining and now the only school both are considering is OU. Strange shit.

Believe the Heupel wrote:Damion James is not going to come to OU. The odds on him coming to OU are slim and none and slim just got dumped into a pile of shit.

James' high school coach was on the radio with Hale yesterday and said that James has pretty much eliminated OU. A poster on Insider who seems to know Damion says that Damion wants a coach who's going to get him to the NBA and knows his game and he doesn't think Capel knows him or his game and won't use him properly.

I'm more optimistic about Reynolds than I am James right now, which isn't saying much. I hate to say it, but I think James winds up at either LSU or Texas.

Mayfield has been granted his release.

A new name that's popping up is Morrison(?). He signed with Mizzou but got out of his LOI when Quinn got fired. Other than his obvious lack of judgement, he'd be a nice pick up and he apparently likes Dukies.
I believe that the Big 12 rule would still be enforced on Morrison. He would have to sit 2 years is my understanding. I think we need to throw the press on on a post right now regardless. Doesn't look good for Clark to qualify either.

Thanks for the head's up. The USF beat writer for the St. Pete Times has said that we have a good shot at getting him, especially since Mayfield would get a good amount of playing time and that the man who he would replace has a good shot at getting drafted (Solomon Jones).
