sorry about the large file, they don't have any photo editing software at the local library where i'm at now.

i graduated from western michigan university on saturday (the pizza delivery and women-beating degree i earned in my spare time), and i wanted to make some kind of post on sat, but something didn't seem right.

seth harp was the local sports radio host in kalamazoo from 10-noon for about six months before fairfield communications was bought out by midwest radio group. and like a coach having a new GM hired, he was on the hot seat because he wasn't the guy hired by managment. so last thursday, he announced that his contract was up April 30 and if you didn't hear him on monday, you know what happened.

sure enough, they had these two other jerk-bags in his spot, including his producer (what a fucking surprise) on monday. and since last night was my last night at the restaraunt, i decided to do a little culture jamming and hijack the word marquee on the sign. it only lasted until around 10 am when i got a phone call from work about it. i didn't even bother answering. seth is a good man, he busted his ASS for that show, promoted the hell out of the station, and no one gave a shit. He's a few years older than me and a WMU grad too, and i got to hang with him for a while when i was in orlando working the ncaa tournament. he's a real smart guy who knows his shit, even if he's a podunk bosox fan from ft. wayne, indiana.

i just had to do it, and i had to put RACK THE TROLLS up there as well. i didn't want to do anything truly mean or awful, since i did like everyone there. but i'm sure it took my boss at least an hour and a half to take my letters down, dig through the paper bag of letters that are absolutely NOT sorted by letter, and put something else up there.

and not like you need to justify it, but why not do a little culture jamming in honor of the board?

Can't say I was much of a Seth Harp fan...he was better than that nasally bitch McGuire though. Who's replacing him? I don't really have any use for the local shows. Huge is brutal to listen to...I listen ESPN 1000 out of Chicago on the way home from work. I'd rather listen to WXYT out of Detroit online in that 10-noon timeslot instead of Harp. I'd rather hear about the Detroit teams and Michigan than hear about WMU and the K-Wings. It's good we have a local station here to cover that stuff but it's not very exciting to me.
