Prime Minister Stephen Harper will be in Quebec City today with a major sop for Quebec Premier Jean Charest after giving short shrift to Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty last night.

Harper allowed his first one-on-one meeting with McGuinty to be overshadowed by this morning's announcement that Charest's province will be given a formal role in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.

Sources told the Toronto Star that Quebec representatives will set up a permanent office within the Canadian delegation at UNESCO, and Quebec will have a say in setting Canadian priorities at the organization.

I just dont like appeasing Quebec....kinda like how I cant cheer for the Oilers....

Regardless... if these moves get the Conservatives the votes the need to govern with a majority I will be a happy man. Canada really needs to remedy the block-hole social programs and health care system that suck in the money...

We are in the twilight of Harpers reign. He has ticked off Ontario and will lose seats there. He will also lose more seats in BC and Manitoba.

His ass kissing of Quebec will cost him. Not to mention that the press will be out to get him next time and they will not be nice like last time.
