What are your thoughts on Sunday evening games?

Since ESPN has lost Sunday Night Football to NBC they have already scheduled some College games to fill the slot. I just found out we had a game moved to Sunday evening. I don't mind it since it's a road game, but I don't think I would enjoy having a home game being played on Sunday evening.
What are your thoughts?
I think this came up in a nother thread, but I could not locate it.

Well, the more college football the better, but I don't think it's a good move. College football will get slaughtered when it goes against NFL, so it's a lose/lose situation.

I believe VT has played a few Sunday night games to start the season in the past. It was cool to have an extra day of CFB.
But, to be honest, I prefer night games on Thursday and Saturday. Monday mornings are already shitty enough without having to deal with a post-CFB hangover.

I dont think its a good idea. ESPN needs to concede Sunday night and just run another one of their shit reality shows. I didnt mind when they moved a game or two to Thursday, but now games are on Fri and SUnday. Dont mess up a good thing.

I love the idea. Outside of the Chiefs I really donb't give a flying shit about the NFL. Joe C. at OU doesn't agree with me though. A couple of years ago ABC inquired as to wether or not we would be interested in playing the Norman game against Bama on a Monday evenning as a precursor to MNF before the NFL season kicked off but we declined. Last year ABC wanted us to move the TCU game to Sunday night so they could air it nationaly (why I don't know) but Joe C. told them we would rather get up at the butt ass crack of dawn and play them in AM hours on regional television.

I know tOSU would never schedule a game on a day other than Saturday, but I certainly wouldn't mind an extra tv day of CFB.

I don't have anything against it. I might be inclined to check it out if it's an interesting matchup.

Yep. If PSU plays Sunday night, I'll watch it, of course. If the NFL game is a stinker (as it usually is), I'll probably watch the CFB game.

I have no desire to watch college football on sunday night, I usually spend that time with my family. The only way I would is if it was a big game for Texas.
For me College football is about two things
1. Going to the game on Saturday and tailgating with friends and then enjoying a good game.
2. sitting on the couch in my underware all day long flipping back and forth between games.
Since I stopped watching the NFL I have found other things to do with my Sundays and I have no desire to waste that day away without a good reason.

According to Football Jesus, Sunday is a day of rest.
Seriously though. As a gambler I'm all for another chance to "get even".
As a CFB fan I don't like it.

I'm a football junkie... so I'm all for it.
I don't mind the thursday night games, so I wouldn't have a problem with sunday night.
I think they should have just one and spotlight it like they do the monday night games in the NFL. It would be a top outta conference game, then when conference games get into gear it would be a top conference game like OU v. Nebraska and such.

AD's would bite at the TV revenue.....but they do have to generally live 24/7/365 with their university area merchants (who are usually organized) and would HATE Sunday night games. liquor sales, down. food sales, down. all-sales, down. they bank on that Friday night before/all-day Saturday income.
but, if such a game were on, i'd watch it over the NFL. though, most of AMerica is not same thinking. i think it would be more like Thursday's MWC games (any TV exposure) than any BCS conference playing guinea pig for it.

That's the thing. You're more than likely not going to get that. While I would certainly tune in to watch USF play anyone I don't know if I would be inclined to tune in otherwise.

I guess the only good thing to come out of our game getting moved is that there is no NFL game that night since it will be game 2 of the World Series.

What he said.
Once college football Saturday is over, there's kind of a letdown knowing you have to settle for NFL games. I like the idea.

Man, there was this Sunday night college game on ESPN a few years ago, we freaking loved it. Some of you may have seen it too. RICE upset Texas on national TV and it was great. Got my ass kicked, but we won.

Bad idea.
The student-athletes have to get up early Monday morning to go to class.

The lawyer in me doesn't like this. Here's why.
The NFL has a limited exemption from federal antitrust laws. The condition to that exemption, however, is that the NFL cannot compete directly with college football, i.e., can't televise pro games while college football is on. But Sunday nights have been the television province of the NFL. If you try to televise college football on Sunday nights, the NFL might very well go to Court, claim that college football is attempting to invade its territory, and then, all bets might very well be off.
Most of us on this board prefer college football to the NFL, but we're in the minority on a national level. College football will never draw the ratings the NFL does. Long-term, this could lead to the demise of college football on TV, or at least, to a significant reduction in the amount of college football shown on TV.

CFB games on Sunday night = one more televised game /week.
What's not to like? If you don't like the matchup, turn on something else. Quite simple, really.
