Good place to buy BBQ pits

Post by Adelpiero »

used to buy them from home depot, lowes, etc.

but is there a better place with more selections and grilling choices?. not impressed with the what the HD and lowes have in stock.

how about a home improvement forum, for the weekend warriors?

fuck that. bluesfan had their gas turned off two months ago and can't cook anything unless its grilled. they saved money not drinking Busch at crap hockey games and spent it on Maull's and park steaks. Bluesfan knows bbq.

Our resident expert, Dr. Dinsdale, suggests the Traeger BBQ.

http://www.traegerindustries.com/tips6index.htm

Those are the pellet BBQ's, using Apple, Cherry, blah blah pellets. Well, I've got a pellet stove in my family room, and I just didn't want to have any more pellets around. You got to vacuum up the ash etc. so I went back to my trusty Weber gas BBQ.

I had one for about 12 years and finally gave it away and bought just a charcoal one. Bad mistake. The 3 burner Weber is just so easy. Flavorizer bars...none of that bullshit red rock stuff. Direct and Indirect cooking... as Mikey would say, "MOM"...which is front burner on medium, middle burner off, and back burner on medium. MOM cooking. Indirect. We BBQ about 4 days of the week. Maybe that is the reason I can't shit. I dunno.

There are many bar BQ pit makers in your home town if you look in the news paper. Here In San Antonio we have many, These folks know what you want in a good BBQ pit. The best ones are the home made ones I found, And I am sorry to make another Bar BQ topic I had not read this when I made mine

I didn't know you were a Weber guy

Seems yours gets about as much use as mine. If you like that indirect cooking thing, you should check out one of these. I bought one about 6 months ago and use it all the time. You can do two whole chickens, a couple of tri tips. pork roast or lots of other stuff. Just stick it on the rotisserie, set the bbq on indirect, turn the motor on, and come back later. Everything gets cooked evenly with no turning or repositioning required. I picked one up at Lowe's for about $39 because I think they were discontinuing Weber stuff or something.

Very happy with mine.

Kind of expensive and heavy as hell (shipping will be pleasant) but it fucking kicks ass. Sucks you gotta call for prices, but they are worth it.

Holland grills are nice too. Use the smoker pellets. My two neighbors have one and they make great food. I like my BBQ smoker more though, but these are much more convenient. Once again, pricey.
