My Friday Morning Rant

WAAAAAAHHHHHH.. I can't wear #5!!!!!

Why do these kids think they are bigger than the game? They are coming in as a rookie getting paid millons & millons of dollars- pick a number and SHUT THE FUCK UP!

Don't get me wrong- I could give a flying fuck what number he wears.. but the principle that this 20-21 year old kid thinks he can change rules in effect for 30+ years just b/c he is Reggie Bush is the problem with pro sports today. Athletes have no respect for the Game anymore. They just care about what is best for their stats and their wallet. Don't get me wrong- get paid all you can- but respect an instiution that has been around a hell of alot longer than you have.

Is he just simply asking or demanding? You don't ask, you don't get. I don't think they should make an exception for him. But giving 25% of the profits to Katrina is hard to turn down. Maybe they'll change the number rules. Would that be any big deal? The NFL has some wacky rules.

He is considering taking it to court... That's more than a request

Reggie needs to let go of his little security blanket and be a grown-up now.

What a tool.

You people obviously don't get it.
"This is an important issue, and it's an important issue because Reggie's had this number since Pop Warner football, and he's built his reputation off of it. He should be able to wear it."
The man has built his reputation off of the number five and now you want to take that all away from him. Despicable.

You guys are missing it.

Bosworth pulled the same thing and his NFL 'career' worked out nicely.

The Bos dropped it after 1 game and gave up his argument...

As far as his reputation- are you telling me he can't run the same if he wears 35 instead of 5? Bullshit

Just pick #23 and be the MJ of the NFL

The Saints could just announce his position change to Quarterback and then assign him the #5 as a QB who just so happens to run the ball all the time. He'd be like Michael Vick minus the poor reads.

I personally think the rule is BS, but b/c its a rule, it should be followed.

It's a stupid rule. I remember when they didn't have the rule and football was just fine.

The man has built his reputation
His reputation is exactly nil at this point. Let him prove it on an NFL football field. He should be proud to sport whatever number they give him.

He should be focusing on Deuce McAllister, specifically beating him out, rather than his fucking uniform number.

The Ain'ts are fucked.

Settle down Trev. Drew can still throw INTs errrr "play" the real QB spot. I was just thinking of a ruse that might help Reggie's bottom line.

I don't care what # he uses as long as somebody plants him and welcomes him to the NFL Nitchske style!
