Rivals 100 RB Rainey to UF

I can finally breathe a sigh of relief. I was hoping we didn't get him...way too small. I would much rather see FSU take a chance on Devine or Maddox anyday. Hopefully we will land one of those two backs.

Isn't Devine even smaller than Rainey?

Hear anything about Armando Allen?

I was hoping Miami would get him that would clear the way for Texas to snag Lennon Creer.

At this point he is Miami's to lose.

Let me be more clear...way too small "scat back" that we already have 8 of on schollie.

Devine is a special looking prospect, while he is short (small), he runs with a punishing style rather than a dancing fairy effort. We've all seen his highlight video's, if he can screw his head on straight, he could become a really special player.

The running back from South Carolina is just a beast who runs right through people and he is very fast as well.

As for Allen, I've heard it is going to be anything from UGA, UM, UF, ND and FSU is somewhere on that list. Many people think that UF has no chance and others think that UF is out in front. Given Rainey's commitment, I would bet that Allen ends up at UM....but Devine could play into that scenario as well. UGA, UM, and UF are the three teams that I hear most with FSU and ND bringing up ther rear. Is that what you are hearing?

Is Caleb King the guy out of South Carolina?

I'm hearing ND has little to no shot at Allen, but Weis either has or will make a stop by his school to talk to his coach. His coach isn't fond of the recruiting game, so we'll see how that goes.

Mike Clay out of Wisconsin has Texas in his top 2. He is supposed to be the best RB to ever come out of that state. Pulling him away from the Badgers will be a major feat.

John Clay and his grades are a major issue. The guy looks like Bo Jackson yet has hardly any offers. Rumor is he has about a 1.4 Core GPA.

Calem King is out of Georgia I think, or at least he is heavily favored to sign with the Bulldogs.

I'm talking about Brian Maddox out of SC. He is the back I would really like to take. King seems to be a brute too...just don't think we have a chance there.

Speaking of grades...It looks like Ball S/LB from Georgia is going to make the grades after all. No one thought he could do it...he will be a great addition to the Nole defense if it is true.

I'm glad UF got Rainey too. I want the Pouncey twins and John Brown from Lakeland. I dont want Devine either. Too much baggage. Armando Allen is the guy I want but RB isnt a must this year. Our depth chart at RB is deep.

If Noel Devine qualifies I will have lost all faith in the NCAA qualifying procedures. That kid couldn't spell cat if you spotted him the C and the T.

I remember you saying this before...do you know what his GPA is by chance?? I keep hearing all the same stuff that I hear every year about certain recruits...Marcus Ball...same way last year....

How much do you know about his core GPA or his test results??

Let me say that I'm just curious as to what you know...certainly not saying that I think you are wrong because you probably are correct...it might explain why Devine doesn't have an FSU offer yet.

Have you ever listened to him speak? I have it was on the internet and the website that had it up pulled it because of the redicule he was receiving from it. It made Vince Young sound like a Rhodes Scholar. The articles stating that over half of his classes his freshman year of high school, when Neon Deion took him under his wing, were remedial were wide spread. His level of intelligence is no secret and you are probably dead on as to that being the reason he hasn't had an offer made to him.

Damn...if he's that dumb, maybe we can get him in under some type of learning disability clause....that is IF he gets an offer. With only 13-16 schollies available, I know that FSU is being very safe with offers and prospect grades...so who knows..an offer my never come.

Haven't looked lately but the guy can fly. I'll take em. Urban seems to be doing a damn fine job at recruiting.

Yes he is...but in all honesty...it's not exactly hard when you coach at Florida...which happens to be located in Florida...which happens to be one of the largest talent pools of high school football players located on the planet. Even Ron Zoooooooooooook could recruit in Florida.

I just think Rainey is way to small...he has a lot of work to do in the weight room, but he could definitely turn out great someday. He obviously is in the Rivals100 for a reason. Good luck to him

Rivals100 2007:

Sidell Corley DE 6-4/250 Mobile (AL) McGill-Toolen SCHOOL - Florida

Aaron Hernandez TE 6-4/235 Bristol (CT) Bristol Central SCHOOL - Florida

Uhhhh.....sure....what ever you say.

Before you dig yourself a hole and completely embarrass yourself with your generalizations and complete lack of knowledge, go back through last years recruiting class and then wait until Feb 2007 and count up the amount of highly rated recruits that Opie got from FL compared to the rest of the country.

Wait, I'll do it for you. Last year 18 of the 27 recruits came from the state of FL. This year will be along those same lines...wanna bet??? You are the guy who always like to put his money where his mouth is right???
Enjoy...dumbfuck

Uhhhh....are you talking about in-state recruiting(see PSU, Michigan, OSU, Texas, etc) ? If you can't recruit your own back yard you don't belong in the big time.

Are you being for real?

^^^^^somehow cooper wasn't able to keep the best of the best in Ohio for a long time (we are talking college careers of course) but this wonderful list of players (some of the best in Ohio went to either ND, UM or PSU)

Tom Lopinski
Trent Zenkewicz
Curtis Enis
Ki Jana Carter
Charles Woodson
Elvis Grbac
Ricky Powers

those were some highly rated and very awesome college players...granted he did get some very exceptional in state players but the lack of getting the cream of the crop hurt tOSU for a few years...

now that JT has put up a wall around Ohio and basically is getting the top 4 out of 5 or whatever has helped tOSU tremendously...

you are right if you can't recruit your own backyard then you don't belong but for a while there many others in Ohio were going elsewhere...

You said Opie was doing a good job. I agreed with a VALID point. Since then you've said nothing of relevence.

BTW...thanks for enforcing my point. Even Ron Zoooooooooooook could guard his own backyard...do you think he belonged in the big time??

Anticipating your intelligent response...dumbfuck.

Don't forget Marc Edwards, who was practically begging for an OSU offer.

Yeah, 'cause getting those guys sure helped in '95 and '96.

As far as this recruiting thing goes, every team in Florida should clean up by walking around the block. As should Texas, OSU, and USC.

The schools that have it the toughest (of the traditional "Big Boys") are UofM and ND. Neither has a geographical "back yard" with ND's closest being Chicago and UofM's closest being Ohio. This year is a very unusual year for the state of Michigan when it comes to football prospects.

PSU has it's backyard of PA, but they've also had recent success in the Maryland/DC/NJ area.

Of course, according to some on this board, the only teams that should be allowed to play are Texas, OSU, USC, Florida Schools, and PSU.

^^^ I think we can open up a spot for KAL...

hey you know recruiting is an inexact science...I mean Edwards and Lopinski could have easily been super studs at ND (I mean they weren't horrible) or they could have as easily been flops or studs at tOSU...

case in point about recruiting (which I why I don't buy into the whole 5 star shit)...AJ Hawk 2/3 star recruit, Mike D'Andrea 5 star...nuff said...

Dumbfuck.....you said FLORIDA. i brought up two HIGH PROFILE players from out of state. You are the fucking moron. No surprise there. Hell, USF and UCF recruit well in-state.

And actually, what school from around the country DOESN'T have teh bulk of its roster from its home state? Way to there captain fucking obvious....went real deep in the well on that one.

I will say this though.....urban over the last year and currently is out-recruiting FSU and Miami. No slouches there in college football. Add the rise of UCF and USF its not as easy as you think. So, for your comment.....there is plenty of in-state competition.

But that wasn't even the point....it was urban getting Harvin(last year) and other high-profile players from out of state.

Dude, we are kicking the shit out of you on the field and off. Bitter I see.

Do you think Zook belonged with the big boys? Your failure to answer my questions proves two points...A. Your reading comprehension is just awful....and B. The first part of my statement which YOU chose to spout off about was that Opie coachas AT FLORIDA...a university which makes recruiting easy because they are a good football team.
The second part was "Florida, which is located in Florida"....which is the part that you flocked to.

I never said Opie wasn't good, I just said it's not hard to be good when you are at the University of Florida. Zoooooook proves that, you genius...you don't hear of Zooooook pulling in any high profile recruits from out of state up there in Illinois do you???

Congratulations, you had a recruiting class that was ranked # 2...right in front of Bobby's #3 class. Yeah...you're just crushing us...it really hurt on signing day when we stole Robinson and McDaniel from you too

FSU has been in the top 5 of recruiting in the last three years. The only other team on the planet to do that is USC. This year we will only take about 15 recruits...most of which will be 4-5 star recruits, making it another unbelievable year.

Please UFfan, take it easy on FSU

On another note...does it ever get old for you? Starting things that you just can't win?

UGA/Ga Tech/Va Tech/UNC/South Carolina

Also........I counted FIFTY-FIVE Michgan players on their roster. Uhhhh, I'm no math major but that sounds like BULK to me. I brief look at the South Carolina roster shows a much higher percentage. I'm sure that areas with higher POPULATION will have more players from that area. Common sense. But what I am saying is that for the MOST part, teams recruit locally THEN nationally(the exception to the rule is ND but they always are).

Michigan has about 15-20 scholarship players on their roster (earned out of high school, not while at UofM) from the state of Michigan.

I just went to ESPN.com and looked at the roster listing and counted each one.
