I hope the local affiliate down here doesn't mess with Sept. 9th...if not I got gameplan as my back up...but still don't put some local show on because two shitty CAROLINA acc teams are not playing...
they didn't last year so they better not this year...
I can't believe Iowa is going to be in primetime...oh wait a minute that is the tOSU draw...but they do have 85 first round picks though...

I'd like to note that tOSU/Texas II will indeed be a night game. I'm surprised that ABC has that much pull. I know Mack & Co want this to be a noon kickoff.

^^^^^^^^^^^^yes because it is 4,850 degrees during the day in Austin...advantage Texas...
I am glad it is a night game...I think that is great for College Football that two tradition rich programs again square off in primetime...I know last years game was well attended at my place to watch and swear, and nail bite and what not...good for CF...isn't Assburger going to do these games with Griese? Oh great...another announcer I can't fucking stand...
yep probably watching this one on mute again...

I love the idea...I'd much rather watch those games than the primetime SEC or ACC game on ESPN. I do like Ron Franklin's call of a game though.

Davie's pretty good, I don't mind him either. Franklin should move over to ABC, IMO. Herbie in the booth at DKR?

Brent and Bob Davie?
![Shocked ](./images/smilies/icon_eek.gif)
I may have to mute the TV and listen to Westwood One for the ND games. But that seven-second delay kills me.

None of 'em can hold Keith Jackson's jock.

it's a swindle.
they blackmail you to listen to the idiots.
I'm surprised Gary "that play would have been a sure touchdown if.....(the LB's didn't tackle the rb at the LOS?)" Danielson's name hasn't crept into this thread. but GD is a flying backwards somsersault super-genius compared to Dan "Wow, what a play! that was a great play!" Fouts....as per "analyst".

Nobody, but
nobody bugs me more than Brent, although Davie is a relatively close second.

i figgered Brent was a given....for anyone. i can see how Davie would rankle you as ND fan. he did whatever bowl CU was in last year (i live in Boulder) and i didn't notice it was him until the third Q.
there are people who say: "well, I like Brent. if he's doing a game YOU KNOW it's a big game....and i like that".
to me: that's like saying if i pour 4 gallons of gasoline over my head and strike a match.....i'm making a life changing decision.

There'll never be another Keith Jackson. Ron Franklin's probably the closest thing to him. I'm a big fan of Brad Nessler as well. Musberger can be annoying but he's one of those guys I've listened to ever since I started watching sports...going back to his NBA on CBS days. On the analyst side...Danielson is #1 and I'm a big fan of Chris Spielman. Davie is pretty good too. Who's Dan Fouts teaming up with next year with Keith being retired?

True dat. I suppose I should look on the bright side: at least it's not the 80's, anymore. Back then, it was almost impossible to turn on a sporting event and not hear "You are looking live at a sold-out . . ."

Thank god there will never be another keith jackson... :D
I like Franklin, Davie, Spielman is pretty good from the perspective of he really gets into the game and calls it like he is on the field (yes insert your homer smack) but I don't think he is a homer...he has called tOSU out on many occasions for lack of whatever...
Danielson is pretty good...I do like Brad Nessler...
I know for one thing I CAN'T FUCKING STAND the CBS SEC guys...what a bunch of douches...also Aaron Taylor get him the fuck off the pre-game show type shit...
Lance - well Herbie will definitely be in Austin for Gameday so I wonder if he will throw in a cameo...I like when he calls games as well with Tirico...
There is one underrated guy in my opinion...MIKE TIRICO...dude is fucking nails...

Ever since Texas got the bubble they no longer have the advantage of being used to the heat. I don't see us pushing the issue like we used to. Besides Deloss Dodds is all about the green and if he could make an extra buck at night he is going to take it. I swear that guy would sell his mother for a buck.
Well I won't be there for the game so I'm looking forward to putting together a watching party in my new digs.

Yep, I like his style also.
Davie is good too- imparts knowledge without being a cocksucker about it.
To me, the guys who cover the Thursday night games for ESPN and the SEC are the best. They cover the game in such a way that you almost don't realize they're even there. No ego, no attempt to make the broadcast about themselves. It's all about the players and the game.
While I like Corso and Herbstreit, I don't like them in the booth. They are amateurs compared to the rest.

When I had to see that highlight from the Alamo Bowl and hear him climax on that crazy kick return, I got tired of him quickly. He's not the worst announcer but he's not one of my favorites. I'm not looking forward to him calling the MNF games. Mike Patrick is probably worst at over-dramatizing a play or a situation. I'm so glad he's not calling Sunday Night games anymore. I hope doesn't move into college football. He's already painful enough when he and Vitale team up on a college hoops broadcast.
