Compared to, say, The Hague, yes, it's a zoo.

Compared to anyplace in Florida, not even close.

I haven't spent near the time in Vancouver as I have Amsterdam but you can't go wrong either way. If you're going to be in that part of BC you should take in Vancouver Island, too.

I'm trying to imagine the age of this person. Odds are he was part of the logging crew that first cleared the Vancouver area. Probably running water (and the daily showers) was "moving in the wrong direction" for this guy.

If Vancouver is being even remotely compared to te Dam, Vancouver must be a very fine city indeed.

Never been downtown Vancouver (only outskirts and airport), but it would have to be one hell of a place to compare to Amsterdam. You may think it would compare, but really, you have no idea.

Daily occurance, 24/7...although as mentioned, that don't fly where the tourists are. Oddly enough, a street called...wait for it...MLK Boulevard is a fine example. Upper Downtown is a hooker smorgasboard of bottom-rung hookers, pretty much all day, every day...sup Luth.

Having been in Amsterdam the past few days, and having visited Vancouver a few years ago, the nod goes to Amsterdam. Both are very hip cities, but Amsterdam has more liberal laws, better looking women, and more interesting places to visit. I don't wanna leave. (I'm actually staying in a small town called Alkmaar, where the locals call themselves cheeseheads.)
