Over here with a prayer request.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My other best friend, Aundrea, who I have known since I was fourteen, has an 18 year old daughter.

Thursday night (actually Friday morning), she was with two friends on 71 Highway driving home from work.

Anyway, she swerved and hit gravel, and although not a bright move not to wear a seatbelt, wasn't wearing one. Hit a ditch and was catapulted through the windshield, suffering severe brain injuries.

In addition, she had damage to her lower lumbar and there is probability that she will not be able to walk again.

This is a straight A kid who was a cheerleader and just graduated a few weeks ago.

Fortunately, as of today, it looks like she may be able to breathe on her own.

As much as I complain about things in my life - her poor Mom. Aundrea also has a 16 year old with Spina Bifida who has been in a wheelchair all of her life.

I am asking that you all pray for Lindsey and her family. Thanks.

There's the fucking understatement of the year.

Too bad we have to pay for our mistakes, sometimes a lot more steeply than other times.
I hope she recovers, and I have great sympathy for her family.
If she had worn the fucking seatbelt, even without knowing any details of her accident, I'd say that her chances would be a whole lot better.

Mikey, you're more than likely correct.

Thank you, and poptart, though for your good wishes and prayers.

What happened to her two friends who were apparently carpooling "from work" in the wee hours?

The little girl in the passenger seat was wearing a seatbelt, but has a broken wrist. Her story has only changed about half a dozen times, so I'm not sure what truly happened.

No alcohol or drugs were involved.

The kid in the backseat suffered a concussion, was knocked out cold but remembers that they swerved really fast and came to when the helicopter got there.

I should know better than to post anything serious before you jackasses. Shame on you.

So there's a little girl involved in the wreck now?

What's next? They ran over a box full of puppies?

:meds:

Get lost, hag.

Please to be explaining what children are doing coming home from "work" early in the morning with an 18 year old.

This story is beginning to smell funny.

Why would anyone take such a bullshit story, in which you readily admit that you don't really know what happened, seriously?

Dear Lord, it's me, Dinsdale. Yeah Lord, I know I take your name in vain a lot, and I don't really believe in you, but on this occasion, I have dug deep within my soul and found all the faith I could muster, so I could pray unto you with this humble request --

Please make LK_Pick die a horrid death.

Thank you, Lord...you're swell.

Amen.

I wasn't wearing a seatbelt when I totaled my car. I had some seriously bruised ribs. My good friend was wearing his seatbelt when he wrecked his Foreunner. He's dead now.

Life is fucked up. It really all depends on the wreck.

Yeah, but you were drunk. Drunks rarely die in wrecks, they just kill other people. :meds:

And T&P for lk's friend, whatever the fuck happened.

Bace makes with the funnay.

I forgot to add Linda Cohn as one of my favorite Chosen people. Don't know what it is about her on Sportcenter or when she sits in for Dan Patrick on his show. Maybe it is the thick NYC accent and how she knows her stuff but she does something for me.
