Be careful what you post in the future, Dins. I'll be watching. If you decide one day to have a take on anything in an era before yours, it will be null and void...all according to YOUR logic. And I will be there to throw it in your face.

But, I think I preferred Candy-O to The Cars, but both of those first couple were pretty solid. At the time, the Cars were kind of bridging the gap between emerging new wave music, and hard rock, so they were somewhat significant from a historical perrspective...pending MGO's assessment, of course.
Lights Out was a better UFO album, imo. Love To Love was a classic overly-sappy rock "anthem."
And that last one pictured there....I believe that one has spent time in the #1 position on the list of Dinsdale's All-Time Favorites. Might even get a whirl today.
In the early days, even though Preist was light in the loafers(even though they weren't really considered so much so back then, although any man who wears a leather jacket with no shirt underneath...well, they've probably spent time with much of this board's memberlist), back then, KK and Glen were such a presence...they just had a "bigger-than-life" air about them. In retrospect, this swagger was probably because they were beeming with the pride that being hetero brings.

Oh contRAIR, monswear.
The only reason I've ever questioned your abilities to form a take on things related to 80's music and fashion, has little to do with your age...it has to do with the fact you've been wrong
every single time you've tried it. And I mean
every single time.
So, if you're going to rewrite history in order to appear worldy, pick an era that I
didn't experience firsthand. I wasn't just there abserving the "history" of cultural trends in the 80's...I was
making that history, brother...believe that.

Yet you've made zero attempts to refute my remarks.

Have heard many of them, but one of 'em I haven't is ...
However, I did see them as the opening act for Black Oak Arkansas & Blue Oyster Cult in Long Beach back around '76. They were pretty good, from what I could tell. 'Course, I'd dropped a laced sugar cube before the concert, and indulged in other recreationals, so for all I know, they might've sucked more ass than Mike Backer's date this weekend.

.
Pink Floyd's Animals is a great one. Probably the least over played of their records. Maybe that's why I can still enjoy it..

True, but Shine On You Crazy Diamond off this album
doesn't get near enough play.

Maybe that has something to do with it being like 14 minutes long?

No excuse. There's some great music to be heard in long extended jams.

Sudden Sam wrote:Hair of the Dog - typical Nazareth. Couple good tunes, but you gotta deal with McCafferty's voice. First album had a monster tune in "Morning Dew" and Razamanaz had a great song in "Woke Up This Morning". Can't listen to more than a song or two at a time of theirs.
Woke Up This Morning kicks ass!
Telegram, their cover of Joni Mitchell's
This Flight Tonight,
I Want To Do Everything For You,
Razamanaz, and
Expect No Mercy are pretty cool, too. Saw them w/ Blackfoot in Phoenix in the early '80's. Not a bad show.

Always a good fallback tune to put on when I was a deejay and wanted to blaze.

The first part is 13½ minutes long, the second half is 12½ minutes.

I have heard about a handful of those LP's.
Rock-N-Roll Machine by Triumph is a great LP. I believe the U.S. release of that album had different songs on it.

Smithers: Ladies and gentlemen, The Ramones!
Mr Burns: Ah. These minstrels will sooth my jangled nerves.
Joey Ramone: I'd just like to say this gig sucks!
Johnny Ramone: Hey, up yours, Springfield!
Joey Ramone: ONE-TWO-THREE-FOUR! (music starts) Happy Birthday to you (Happy Birthday!), Happy Birthday to you (Happy Birthday!), Happy Birthday, Burnsie, Happy Birthday to you!
Marky Ramone: Go to hell, you old bastard!
C.J. Ramone: (after the curtain closes) Hey, I think they liked us!
Mr. Burns: Have The Rolling Stones killed.
Smithers: Oh, sir, those weren't...
Mr. Burns: Do as I say!

All these wanabe ass hole so called rock N rollers never gave a shit about the Ramones. I remember back in 1978 when they would get booed off the stage,
Until some rock stars on MTV in the early 90s started to wear the Ramones T shirt everyone thought it was cool.
My girlfriends daughter told me in 1997 that I listen to shit when i had my Talk Talk CD playing and yet in 1998 she was jamming out to No doubt's hit song they stole from Talk Talk "it's my life"
