Another year, another Oregon uni change

Damn...the U&L's a good place to be a uniform designer, I guess. The Ducks are a $$ contract.

Are they using 3 helmets during the season?

Is that a diamond plating pattern on theirs shoulders and knees?

Man..that is bad.

I think that was on their uni's last season

Bad gets worse.

DII, much?

Geez...that's about the ugliest uni I've ever seen.

Do they really sit there and have meetings where the topic is "How can we make ourselves look even worse?"

I feel bad for #34 in his attempt to look tough considering he will look like a Pez dispenser when he puts the helmet on.

Is the guy in the white uni #10 or #70?

Also, on the yellow helmet (not sure of the others) there is a tribal design in white that is hard to pick up in those pictures.

Thank God ND isn't a Nike team, because Kevin White would cave to whatever Nike wanted.

The uni's are the least of their problems. Look at the size of their OL in the white. That is a problem.

Phil Knight uses them as his guinea pig.

There ought to be a law against going out in public looking like that.

No black helmet?

I mean they have everything else there.

My first thought was 70, but then I took a closer look at the guy, and then the number. Could be 10, at least that looks like a more appropriate number for the guy.

Rack. Like I said before, under White ND would be wearing pink and purple polka dot unis and playing in the Sun Belt Conference, if the money were right.

Wow, that aluminum tread design really works well. It should instantly remind opponents where to dig their cleats.

Whewww. I guess that shoulder stripe tweek on tOSU's unis wasn't such a big deal.

Hey Terry, did you see where White was just named AD of the year by some organization? I guess it helps if the people you are a "yes man" to, actually know what they are doing.

No, I didn't see that. But you're absolutely right. White is riding the coattails of the football team's turnaround in 2005. But he had next to nothing to do with it.

When will Oregon come to their senses and realize that Nike is making a mockery of them in order to garner some attention?

As soon as Phil Knight stops writing those big checks made payable to "University of Oregon".

what's with those numbers? LED display wristwatch or high score on Space Invaders late 70's nostalgia?

They can either wear silly unis and have nice facilities, equipment and appeal to recruits, or they could have decent unis and just be a school in Eugene that nobody would go to

Dennis Dixon is a QB for them that wears #10, I didnt see anyone assigned #70 on their roster

Horrifying. If I'm a recruit I stay away based on the fact that I'd have to wear that crap 10 times a year.
Who pissed all over #28?

I just counted 18 Swooshes in that pic, and that doesn't include the two partially obscured ones on #70's shoes.

I knew someone would come w/that take. So, you're saying Mr. Knight is taking Nike's collective dick to the back of the throat, knowing that they are using Oregon as the guinea pig only to garner attention w/their "cutting edge" :meds: uni designs?

There is no way that that guy in white is wearing any number other than 70. If he lined up anywhere but as an interior OL every crew in America would flag him for being ineligible.

Look at the guy in the yellow. The top part of the number 3 extends out pretty far as well. While I do agree that the dude in white looks to be wearing a #70 jersey, it could be argued that the top line of the number is being extended out for whatever reason. Leave it to Nike.

both pics have the same 4 guys modeling the unis but different numbers on them in each pic and Oregons roster doesnt show anyone assigned #70. The guy in #70 in the first pic is wearing #3 in the second

Mucho,

I get what you are saying, but it wouldn't matter. Uniform makers don't make the rules. Especially on film that is going to look like 70 every time.

I sent that pic to the rest of my crew and each of the 6 guys responded with 70 as the answer to my question.

It's 70, but look at the dudes #34. Not exactly what a #3 should look like either.

On further review, I have to go with Lefty. That number is 70. It just didn't look like an appropriate number on that guy. I didn't realize until later that the same players were modeling the uniforms with different numbers.

Anybody remember the original Rollerball movie with James Caan? Is it just me, or do the numbers on these unis look a little like the numbers did on the unis in that movie?

If you look at the other pic of the unis, its the same 4 guys modeling the uniforms and they have different numbers on the thing, the guy wearing #70 in one picture is wearing #3 in the next

2nd.

Something tells me that OU fan would be blowing a gasket right about now if this weren't a wytch job. I seem to recall BtH complaining about the unis during the Schnellenberger regime.

Those 4 players are not wearing their actual numbers in the first pic.

Yes, Cameron Colvin is wearing #70 in the first pic. His actual number will be 3.

Dennis Dixon is wearing 55 in the first pic. He will be wearing #10 come fall.

Honestly, seems like a strange thing to bother sending your "Crew" emails about to try and figure out if they thought it was a 70.

Never underestimate the lengths us CFB geeks will go to in order to drum up some CFB chat in the offseason.

That crew I referenced and that you put in quotes is my college football officiating crew. The 7 of us officiate college football games as a group or crew. So sending a crazy uni pic to fellow officials that I will take the field with this fall in order to get their opinion is hardly strange IMO, but hey whatever works for you.

Oh, yeah, what Indy said too.

yeah, I think Howard put concentric double stripes or rings around the shoulders like Ole Miss used to have and Nebraska has in the Game of the Century and Louisville probably had. like most of Howie's idosyncracies they were not only not received well...but didn't "add up" to the Olympian God-Like status he was expecting. without going too far into it, Howie and OU was a bad fit. Froz may have even been in school during that year....he's a little younger than me i think. and i went to Vandy.

the Oregonified Sooner uni look might lead to eventual martial law in Norman. It would be ugly.

RACK the Beaverton Ducks.

They have you guys(and many others on many other forums, I'm sure) talking about their unis in June.

Man, I remember the "Old Days," when the Oregon-uni discussions were about how ugly the cut/style of the new unis was so bad...now, almost every football team in the country wears it.

By December, everyone here will be quite familiar with Dennis Dixon.

But really, here's something to ponder...maybe CFB has become like the BBS boards where people discuss it -- certain people know that they can do certain little things, and make the entire community melt.
