I dig their previous album, Alive...Or Just Breathing, a little more. The new singer gets a little operatic for me. I dig their sound though. I like the contrast of the screaming hardcore vocals against the melodic power metal vocals. The only thing that bothers me about them is their lyrics. They're a little too positive and quasi-religious. (I was going to say quasi-Christian, but I didn't want to set off battery chucka and Tom in VA. ;) )
Not that there's anything inherently wrong with positive lyrics (or religious ones, for that matter), but it doesn't really fit their sound. I guess I prefer my metal loud, fast, and pissed off at the world. KSE is 2 for 3.
