(Yeah, I know this should be in Tech and Games, really)
What's it like? I love Championship Manager, Baseball Mogul and games of that ilk (I even had Statis Pro Football and Baseball when I was a kid), and this looks very intriguing. Anyone played it yet?

I don't know why EA couldn't just combine Madden and this game or package them together. This is kind of like what EA does with the soccer games...they don't combine the pro leagues and the international teams into one game...they have to buy two games to do both. I'd imagine a lot of the same stuff is in Madden but there's obviously more decision-making aspects in this game instead of playing the actual games. It looks like fun because I love the offseason when I play a franchise in Madden. I don't think they're making it for the PC, so I won't pick it up...I probably wouldn't buy it anyways. Madden 07 comes out in about 2 months anyways.

Cool, that means I can find a used copy of Madden 06 fairly soon. Fuck paying 59 bucks for a new copy of that crap. if they still made the ESPN game, I wouldn't even bother buying the Madden games period.
As for the NFL Coach game, it sounds interesting. The question is, will EA Sports be trying to assrape their customers with this one as well? If so, I wouldn't bother until it hits the bargain racks.

The game is only $40 for the PC.. you get the roster updates throughout the season, and the online play is a lot better than Xbox because you're not stuck with playing some 12 year old who cuts out after you score 2 TD's.
I'll never buy a console system again.

That ESPN game was supposed to be as good as Madden but half the cost a few years ago, remember? It sucked. The gameplay was fucking atrocious, but it had enough bells and whistles to amuse the tard faction (see: BSmack).

ESPN Football gameplay was atrocious? Please do explain. And remember you're speaking to someone who has every Madden game since 2001 save the 2006 game. So I'm more than familar with the crappy gameplay that is Madden.

In two months I'll pull it for less than 20 from some loser who needs to have the new game. I have Madden from 2001 through 2005, ESPN from 2k3 through 2k5 and a couple of the old 989 NFL games as well. So it's not like I'm starved for video football game action. Truth be told, had the Steelers not done as well as they had last year, I probably wouldn't even bother with Madden 06 at all since they can go fuck themselves for monopolizing the NFL video game market.

I'm with you on that. Not as many games are available for the PC as before (no MLB or college football namely) but I'm not about to drop several hundreds on a new console whenever those come out. I got into that trap when I had Nintendo and then SEGA came out...haven't owned console since Genesis. I moved over to PC shortly after never went back. I love being able to not only get roster updates but also graphic updates. There are sites devoted to graphic updates for individual games. I've got my NHL 06 all up to date...waiting for a graphic update for the new Anaheim uniforms. I've got a pretty sweet setup at home...I use my work laptop that has a really good graphics card on it. It has the multiple display capability so I'm able to hook it up to the TV and play the games on the screen in my living room and then I've got an adapter that plugs into the earphone jack that goes into my sound system so I've got surround sound with my games. I'm mostly just play EA Sports games so that's another reason I don't go to console. If I owned a console, I'd probably waste so much time playing other games. I get the new sports games each season and I'm good to go.

You mean, she's dead?
I've ordered it off EBay, seeing as they're not selling it in the UK and the bastards over here would only whack an extra £20 on the price anyway.

Rack the Techmo Bowl mods. Have you played any of the other available mods? I've got the 95, 04 and 05 seasons as well as the original game, a dynasty version that matches up each team's best single season roster and, for the hardcore Tommy Maddox fans, an XFL mod.
One of these days I need to get a USB NES joystick.

I only have the original and the STB along with 1000 over Roms I pulled off some site. (rack baseball stars, rbi baseball, metroid and castlevania)
I've been looking for the later seasons. Got a site I can d/l them from? The emulator I have let me modify the logitech pad I have to match the B and A buttons etc..
I've been looking for a Sega emulators along with an Xbox one too but they seem harder to come by and are still very buggy. Joe Montana football for Sega was awesome.
