NBA Draft

Can't believe there's not an in game thread started already.

So far, I'm most impressed with the T-Gangsters pullin off the Thomas-Roy double. Those guys were arguably 2 of the best 5 players in the draft and they end up in P-town. Can the company keep the new guys from imploding like every other social misfit they've employed lately? Time will tell.

Little shocked that "porn stash" went to the Cats. He doesn't seem like he's an MJ type guy. Maybe the new minority owner doesn't have the pull people thought he would have.

Too many trades to keep score of.....*as Stern goes to the podium to talk about another trade*. We'll see how it all shakes out in the end.

edit Thomas and Aldridge flip flop at 2 and 4. Like Thomas more than Aldridge...still like Portlands draft so far

Portland has had a GGGGREAT draft.

Chitown has had a great draft.

The Rockets- Trading Gay and Swift back to Memphis for fucking Battier????

?

Fuck off JVG. Fuck off new fucking Yankee dicknose GM. Fuck off shitbrain owner who has no balls. Our team should never be allowed to draft again. Ever. ever.

We passed on Jefferson a few years back and PrimeX was angry. We now pass on a top 5 talent for BATTIER. Dude has scrub inked on his forehead. Fucking hell I want to shoot people right now.

GOD DAMNED FUCK SHIT.

Shocked because they made a great pick for their organization?

They needed a scorer to go along with Okafor and Felton. This team is going to be real good in a couple of years.

morrison to cats is a great move

he isnt a fit in every team, but the bobcats needed another bonafide scorer. add him to the rest of the kids who can ball, and they should be a tough team every night. .500 is realistic.

Prime, I like the pick. I was just sayin if MJ had the power/weight, Morrison doesn't get picked. Adam Morrison is gonna win a ton of games on last second shots during his career. Dude's nails.

Glad to see Solomon Jones get picked, especially to a team (Atlanta) where he can get some playing time right away.

Love love love the Cavs getting Shannon Brown from MSU.

Nice job by the Knicks, too. Always good for a laugh.

That was HOOOOORIIIBLE!

Sin,

Bill Walton

Portland, for once, had a great draft. I was really impressed w/ who they got in Aldridge and Roy.

The Bulls got a starter in Thomas and the Swiss guy looks like a great wing guy they can bring off the bench to help spell Nocioni.

I was a little shocked that the Bobcats went w/ Morrison b/c you if they had drafted Roy, their backcourt would have been set for the next 6-8 years w/ him and Felton.

Portland also picked up a born and bred Limey with a solid 3 years of organized basketball under his belt. What is THAT? This dude must be an amazing talent.

No. Not by any means.

See, the Fans wanted Morrison. "Draft The Stache" T-shirts and whatnot all over town.

And while management should never let the fans run the draft, they also need to keep in minmd who pays the bills...this team moreso than others, since forgetting that basic principle has got them into their present pickle.

Rip City was starting to feel like Rip City again. Excitement abounded.

And Allen/Patterbadhair/Pritchard just couldn't have that.

How fucking stupid does this trio(used to be 4 morons, they scaled it back to 3) look right about now? These guys had to really put some effort into appering dumber than they were, but they pulled it off.

I'm happy with Aldridge, but he would have been around at #4. No need to trade a 1st rounder from 2 years ago who was coming along nicely to move up two whole spots. And I'm not sure if Pritchard remembers this, but their $84,000,000 franchise player also just happens to play the same position(and only that position) as the guy they just spent A BUNCH on drafting.

And sure, there was a logjam at point gaurd, and Jarret Jack and Steve Blake were both very good last year, but Telfair was a 1st rounder two years ago. But, got a U&L guy back in Dickeau, and U&Lers are always a favorite.....

Except maybe in the case of Huskies. While it would be foolish to bitch at all about Roy's game, fact remains...he's still a Husky...in Duck Country. That's always going to be a little iffy. Just from my memory, I don't recall the Zers ever drafting a Husky...because we HATE "those people." Buddha Edwards played here for like a year when he was about 1,000,000 years old, but that's about it for Huskies I remember. Fine player, though.

Freelander, or whatever English Dude's name is...good pick. They'll leave him in Europe at no cost, and if his talent developes, then bingo. If not, no big deal.

That Spanish dude...ditto.

Blazers did come away with 2 excellent prospects, and two very good long-range ones.

They just spent massive cash and past prospects to get at such a good draft.

The U&L roster should read -- Webster, Roy, and Morrison. It doesn't.

I thought I heard something about Roy and Martell Webster being friends from before, so we'll see how that works out. Good "character guys," which this team is in desperate need of.

So...anyone need an overweight, max-salaried power forward with bad knees who never plays defense?

How about "The Most Talented Player In History?" Anyone interested in helping a certain young man contnue in his quest to play for every team in the league(and half of Europe) by age 30? If you negotiate a hard bargain, we might even package Randolph and Miles, and as a bonus, we'll throw in their runaway drug problems(rumors are leaking that there's some serious drug problems at work there(crack/meth adiiction) That would explain a lot about their behavior and work ethic.)

But overall, we got some really solid players. And if the roster gets overhauled to accomodate them...so freaking what? What, are we only going to win 25 games next year? That would be an improvement.

Blazerfan isn't used to dealing with this cellar-dwelling bullshit. Hell, it was only but a couple of years or so ago we didn't even know what a lottery ball looked like. Now, we write the lottery headlines...WTF?

When the dust settled, the Suns were also left with three first-round picks next season: Their own, Atlanta’s (protected through the first three picks) obtained in last summer’s Joe Johnson deal and Cleveland’s.

“Who knows, maybe we’ll actually use a pick next time,” D’Antoni joked.

Since nobody they wanted was around, they concentrated on saving cap money to resign Tim Thomas and sign another free agent.
