Noooooooo. Nothing displayed in their recent history would suggest that...

It was a beadbutt worthy of the WWF. I kept waiting for Superly Snuka to come off the top rope. Alas, it never got that exciting.

Italian player: "Hey, Zini, you wanker, give me head!"
[BONK!]
"Oh, oh, oh, oh..."
"RED CARD, Zidane! That's it, you're gone! What'd you do that for?"
"He
asked for it!"

Utterly pathetic. He smacks the guy in the plex with his forehead, and the guy takes a flailing dive and clutches at his hammies? At that point, I was wondering why I was even watching...

The Frenchie was too pussy to go head-to-head with his butt, and the other stinky 'victimized' Euro wins a daytime Emmy for best flop, curl & cry.
Great episode, Foosieball goofs.

Good to see that Italy have passed the title of 'Pussies who haven't won anything for over 20 years' onto the Raiders.
Hey Poptard - how does it feel to support an inferior team in an minor sport? Does it gall you that if it wasn't for a midget drug dealer with jheri curls wearing one of your caps on an extremely bad hair day, the world would have never heard of your shitty little club?

I previously educated you on the fallacy of your thesis, slope.
The fact that the 'world' likes something doesn't prove doodly squat.
For example, most of Asia is
still ga-ga over Michael Jackson, and most of THE WORLD seems to think that showering about 1/10th as often as they shit is a good ratio.
If you want to talk NFL then post something in the NFL Forum ....... other than the lastest finger-toy picks and pans.

Is RaiderFan trying to educate me on personal hygiene? What an amusingly cheeky moron.
Yes, I like the NFL, but that's because I'm incredibly eclectic and worldly wise. You not liking Sahkah because there's not enough homoerotic padding, recreations of the carpet scene in The Lovers and opportunities to dress like the Village People on Halloween merely makes you a dull-witted dangling off the arsehole of humanity.
Kindly remove yourself from my genitalia and prepare for another season of humiliation, Mr Bitch.

Appears you've got a lot of dreams about
RaiderFan, and that's well and good, but who is YOUR team of choice .... ?
The one with the cutest helmets ... ?
Or maybe the Texans ... ?
I hear they've got two tight ends and 40 guys who suck.

Actually, on this . . .
Nishlord wrote:I actually like the NFL, because I'm intelligent and cosmopolitan and open-minded. But I adore proper football. Sport isn't a monogamous relationship, y'know.
That would have to be a prime example of the pot calling the kettle black. I want to like soccer, I really do, if out of nothing more than civic pride (Crapchester is a soccer hotbed, at least by U.S. standards), and the fact that my son plays it and, in all likelihood, my daughter will play it when she gets older. But it seems, according to SoccerFan anyway, that one can't be a real soccer fan unless one thinks that all other sports are somehow grossly inferior.

Finally, a bit of mindless violence is added to a soccer game to the enjoyment of all and then a ref goes and ruins it?

Was that a soccer game or the international diving competition?
BTW, Fester, I currently have a 12-pack of Summit Extra Pale Ale in fridge at home as my everyday brewski. $10.99 at Woodman's.

So the headbutt man is Muslim?
Maybe the other guy sprayed some tinkle on his leg and invalidated his ghusul.
I think the penalty for that is death by headbutt.

France, was somehow labelled...

Pretty sure it's both.
But, if you're not familiar with the backgroud, it's much better than just that -- basically, in the international community, this guy is Michael Jordan, Joe Montana, Babe Ruth...like, this guy may someday be mentioned with names like Pele...and that happened in an intense moment during overtime...
in his farewell game.
Outside of the US(where 95% of the world's population resides), Zizou is one of the most recognized, revered athletes to ever live. Was always considered a very classy player in his long, illustrious and highly decorated career, matter of fact.
And
THAT'S how he made his exit.
One of the most bizarre things I've ever witnessed in sports. Absolutely shocking.
I kept thinking about that Billy Crystal movie "You can't eject me, it's my farewell game!"
Ref: "Well then, let me be the first to bid you 'FAREWELL.' "

Well, I’d say he aimed a bit low.

Maybe Zizou isn't as dumb as he appears right now --
As his better years were behind him and his star was fading, Evander Holyfield drew his era-of-overpaid out quite a few more years by doing nothing but headbutting opponents...maybe Zidane is just taking a page from CondomsAreBadField.

Without even hitting a key, I'll bet it is right there -- Zinadine Zidane, born in France, French citizen, playing for the French national team. Really -- I don't need Google to tell you that Zizou is French.
Sorry if that doesn't play to the stupid stereotypes you're
trying to sell here, but it's fact.
Believe it or not, Seer, there's actually people who were
quite familiar with the guy and his career before yesterday/last week.
And newsflash, dildo -- players get ejected from FIFA matches on a pretty regular basis in this day and age. It's not some horrid blight on one's career. Anymore, it's uncommon for a team leader to NOT get ejected at some point in the big international tournaments.
And maybe while you're Googling up your
vast knowledge of the facts, maybe you'll notice that Zizou was the absolute HERO of that 98 Cup that you're referring to -- the tournament that brought France their first Cup, and the tournament that made Zidane more famous in France than Napolean.
Dumbass.

According to wikipedia, he has both French and Algerian ancestry, but I haven’t seen anything indicating dual citizenship. He has previously been thrown out for coco-butting, however.
Second the fact that Seer is a dumbass.

Just to clear things up for those of you keeping score at home, Zidane is French by virtue of having been born in France, but is of Kabyle Algerian descent, and is a self-described "non-practicing Muslim."
Of course, none of this detracts from Seer being a dumbass.

Another (of many) good reasons to not include "soccer" as a sport...

Hey, you finally got something right...
So, by YOUR logic, there are no Americans.
OK.
Zizou(who spends just about all day, every day out in the sun) must be about the pasty-whitest "Arab" on the planet.

PARIS, July 10 (Reuters) - France captain Zinedine Zidane was apparently called a "dirty terrorist" by Marco Materazzi before he head-butted the Italy defender in Sunday's World Cup final, the anti-racism group SOS Racism said on Monday.
"According to several very well informed sources from the world of football, it would seem that the Italian player Marco Materazzi called Zinedine Zidane a 'dirty terrorist'," SOS Racism said in a statement.
Zidane, the son of Algerian immigrants, was shown a red card after the incident and Italy went on to win on penalties after the match was tied 1-1 following extra time.
The Paris-based group called for an inquiry and said world soccer's governing body FIFA had recently toughened sanctions against racism.
"It's for this reason that SOS Racism asks in a determined fashion for FIFA to shed light on this altercation and that sanctions laid out in the official rules be applied should this be the case," SOS Racism said.
Neither Zidane nor Materazzi have spoken in public about what had passed between them before the incident. French television reported that Zidane would talk about the incident "in the coming days".

Materazzi should get a bonus for getting in his dome like that.

According to ITN, Materazzi said "I slept with your mother last night. Your mother is an Algerian whore".
Unbeknownst to Materazzi, Zidane's Mam is not well and in hospital.

Dfending his mother's honor, even while on the world's biggest stage...
Doesn't make him such a bad guy...but a horrible time to do it...should have walked up and decked him after the game.
