I don't think it sucked. It's been over 2 years since we have had a chance to view new material. In that time, we've all had plenty of time to watch Season 1 and 2 whilst drunk and/or high, with other people, and laughed our asses off at our favorite parts. With time, those episodes have gotten funnier and funnier because of different little shit that we've picked up.

Because there has been such a long wait, these episodes are in a no win situation. They could be better than the first two seasons, which would cause us to be bitter and pissed. Or they could reach the same level or slightly below, in which case, we will downgrade them because we like 1 and 2 so much.

I thought the revenge sequence was funny, as well as the new Tupac song.

It did suck, but Entourage last night kicked ass! So did Lucky Louie I might add.

Maybe someday.

Yankeefan is everywhere, even in the U&L. Not particularly relevant, but I got all liquored up (:shocker:) at a AAA game and traded my regular Yanks hat for a supercool 2000 WS Yanks hat...still got it...I washed it before I wore it, though.

Until that day that I may get YES, I guess I'll keep getting my baseball ya-yas by watching my mortal-enemy, the M's, who are on FSNNW just about every night(unless it's a day game).

True story.

I lived in Jacksonville from '87 (actually late '86) until July '90 while I was in the Navy. I somehow had a cable TV rep find me, so I ordered cable. Not long after that, I got a survey.

One question asked for suggestions on how they could improve the service. I wrote, "Dump the PTL network and pick up WPIX" (a NYC station which carried Yankees games at the time).

They wrote me back thanking me for my suggestion, but unfortunately, they didn't act on it.

American league is 8-0-1 in the last nine All Star Games. Last two World Champions from AL too.....

I've never really gotten the "chess match" argument. A couple of examples to illustrate:

Example #1: Third inning. #8 hitter leads off with a single. The pitcher is up next. The pitcher bunts. Everyone in the ballpark (and watching the game on TV) knew it was coming.

Example #2: Tie game, seventh inning or later. Pitcher comes up to bat. The manager pinch hits for the pitcher. Everyone in the ballpark, and again, watching the game on TV, knew ahead of time that was coming.

I honestly don't see the great amount of strategy involved.

The DH rule is roughly equivalent, on a smaller level, to the two-platoon system in football. I wonder how many of the DH haytas want to see football go back to the days where everybody played both offense and defense.

I honestly did not know that. I think I'm still traumatized from growing up an AL fan and having the NL run off something like 30 All-Star game wins in a row. :brad:

NL homers crack me up.

Maybe the AL should pass a rule than bans one "designated hitter" from every team from ever taking batting practice...that should make for quite the "chess match."

NL managers think they're soooo smart...yet every 9 AB's, they send a guy to the plate who doesn't have the foggiest idea how to hit an MLB pitch...

Yeah, that's thrilling shit, right there.

The AL has to make wise choices in regards to the bully as to stop a big rally...in the NL, the manager only has to wait a few AB's...rally over.

Real "chess match" stuff.

Rack. Who wants to pay good money to watch a pitcher make a fool of himself, wave at three pitches, then sit down? Hell, I probably have as good a chance at making contact as most of them do.

In fairness to NL managers, though, the rules they play under require them to do that. Just sayin'.

The NL is to the AL what MLS is to the World Cup.

Or did that 158-98 (or some shit like that) record during inter-league play not penetrate?

Put another way, the Royals went like 10-8 against their NL Central division counterparts.

Hell, I wish KC played in the NL.

Actually, back in the day, turf was responsible for an even bigger difference between the two leagues than the DH rule was. The Royals, back then, were essentially a NL team playing in the AL, in terms of the way they were put together -- lots of slap hitters, but not a whole lot of power.

Now wait just a damn minute. You do realize they've been playing pretty good ball lately?

They've gone 15-9 in the last 24 games. Granted, 11 of those wins came against the NL, but still...at least they're not on pace to break the MLB record for most losses in a season anymore.

You will kindly acknowledge that KC is, indeed, a professional baseball team, or I'll throw a tantrum and start breaking shit.

You can't dog the Royals. Only a lifelong Royals fan can dog the Royals.

We're pretty good at that, too.

Edit: Nope, not unless I delete one of the others. Sorry, Wags, but this isn't quite good enough for that.

You, sir, are correct.

Willie Wilson out front told me so.

"Chess match" style is just a substitute for poor pitching.

The game isn't supposed to be that complex.

Baseball in its purest form is the pitcher offering up his best stuff versus the batter's best stuff, and the audience is sitting back to see what will happen.
